How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We came late in the night and we did appreciate the key lock box - easy to access, easy to follow instructions and even though it was easy, the property owners made sure that I receive the key (the instructions were in several places!). Fully recommend.

We had to pay for the parking that was in the yard of the buidling. It was announced in the mail, but still it was not expected.
We got very detailed information how to get the keys, and how to find the apartment. The apartment was very clean and nicely equipped. We had a really nice stay there!

We overslept and checked out 1 hour later which understandably we had to pay extra but it was only 1 hour which in my opinion they could have just let it pass.
Was very clean and spacious. Perfect location you're near everything. It also had everything you needed. The security is good. So anyone that has some concern of people breaking in in ceske budejovice this place is perfect. It has a gate and you can only get in with a chip and you also have a key for your own room. You also get to have a parking space.

My credit card didn't work here somehow but it worked elsewhere on other bookings in Czech. Was forced to make money transfer in CZK currency which is not that simple and usually costs more to send and also take more time than in other more popular currencies. Both beds very uncomfortable used up also covers for pillows and duvets not fresh at all seeming that wasn't oven washed.
We had everything we needed for self dinning moreover the apartment was well equipped.

Keys were not left at the box and reception was closed when we arrive. So we had to wait for the keys a bit. After a while we asked someone from the cafe to call the host. As we arrive WiFi was messed up (probably by the previous visitor). The lady told us she had no idea to fix it. We had to take care of it ourselves.
It is a nice and clean place located in a beautiful neighborhood.

Located very close to the old town. We could walk to everything. The apartment was very nice and very clean. The bathroom was large and modern. The kitchen was modern and left nothing to be desired. The bed had a very good mattress. The living room was well furnished. Very good WiFi. It was very quiet. The parking spaces are in the courtyard and protected by a gate. We will be back.

Very clean and spacious. 2 bathrooms were included in the room. Fully equipped kitchen and there was a small balcony. Ideal stay for a couple or a small family.

You book and when you get there they want you to pay a deposit which if fine if stated and was more than double of the actual room itself

We needed important assistance to find a lab to do Corona test vital for our back flight. From our entrance to the apartment on Friday evening up to Tuesday night nobody was there to face our minimal needs like a bit of sugar or additional pillow. In regard to our query about Covid test it was an SMS reply (after 2 days) saying "Look in the Internet" All the sites that I found in the Internet (by the way very weak WIFI) were in Czech language. At the last moment we got some help from people in the streets. Wednesday morning 10 minutes before our leaving, the lady open the "reception" to collect the payment and the keys. It's pity that we had such disappointment because the apartment is well located and the city and the surroundings are wonderful
