Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyThe whole house is intended to be a no staff contact kind of boarding home. That means people will do whatever they want. The toilet was not screwed to the floor, bathroom door had a hole from a punch or kick. The road up there is a narrow dirt road, easy to miss from the street. The property is kind of unkempt / undergoing renovations.
Spacious room with own kitchen. Location remote (can be an upper or a downer depending on what you are looking for), still relatively close to the center (approx 30mins. By public transport). By car way quicker, about 10mins. It is a very silent location.

Checked in online and did not have to speak with anyone. Towels provided, wi-if and kettle, mikrowave in the room. We emailed that no remote in the room and we were delivered it immediately. Lovely, thank you.

ArgentinaNo elevator and too much stairs to have luggage. If you don't have a car I wouldn't like the location.
Free parking, nice view, check in was very easy as you had the codes sent to the doors and that was all you had to do. No human interaction. We even had an apartment assigned that was not clean and we contacted them through the chat and 2 minutes later they apologized for the inconvenience and gave us the code for the correct room.

GermanyThere was a bad smell hanging in the apartment from the moment we entered it, which did not feel well. Some decorations would definitely help to make the place more cozy and some more pots in the kitchen would also be great. Yet, overall a good value for the price.
The apartment is located in a quiet area, pretty well connected by bus to the city centre. The kitchen was also equipped with a new washing machine.

PolandIt was very hot in the room on the top floor. But when you opened the window amount of mosquitoes coming to the room was crazy. I couldn’t sleep because they were biting me all night. And the pillows are so small.

Polandthis place is not clean and tones of mosquitos were already invited to the room before i came. To enter the road to this property you need to make a rapid turn, there is no sign or anything you just turn into narrow road with holes. It was also amazing to here sb using chainsaw around this 'apartments' after 10 p.m. (?) I can understand that this place doesn't need to have brand new items inside but rusty cosmetic holder ? Floor that is not changed for ages, dirt over the toilet, not working shower holder... I really hate giving negative opinions, and when sth is wrong i try to be neutral or dont give the opinion but this time i couldn't

SloveniaThe worst _prepaid_ experience with Booking.com 1) They have automatic "AI" check-in. It means that you have to enter the app they send you, and then (standing next to the door with crying kids!) you have to take a photo of your ID to send to this magic app for check-in. In my case, this app didn't accept a photo of my ID even after 8 tries. So I started to send them messages asking for help. Nobody responded. 2) I started to call - the phone from booking was out of service. I found in the check-in instructions another number - it responded with another voice AI app for booking one of those apps. It was about 20:00, and I started to worry. 3) I called to Booking.com support for help. They also couldn't reach the host. I booked another place and applied for a money return. 4) As a bonus and reply to all my messages, I got an instruction for the checkout on the day when we left Pilsen. "Hello, I am here to help you." AI-message again. I believe that other travelers had no issues with this check-in app and enjoyed the stay. But if something goes wrong - nobody helps you - you will remain on the street with your prepaid booking.
I could not get it, and the host didn't respond with any matter of communication. We spent 2 hours next to the building, and then booked another one. They still haven't respond to any of my messages.

Ukrainea hotel for a one-time visit, if I knew how everything would be, I would choose another hotel, mosquitoes are smeared on the walls, furniture is broken, towels are clean but old, the washing machine is old and dirty, there is no air conditioner, if it's hot and open the windows, then all the mosquitoes are in your room, I thought I would rest in silence, but first I had to kill there are no insects, there is no sound insulation, the location and service are not worth staying here.

GermanyThe issue was that the front door opening was very difficult! We were given a code that didn't work because there were technical issues. Code was wrong and entrance door defe t. We had to wait in the rain and dark outside to figure out what to do he owner or such wasn't available right away either. I got a of her and she kept giving wrong pin number. A other guest or they building did let us him after I knocked on his windows. The owner didn't see any fault by them and refused to reimburse any cent!! Very rude!! ""I highly recommend to avoid this place forever rather pay a bit more but don't need to deal with this crapy people.!!
