Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI am not sure if this applies to all rooms but the bathroom was not designed well. They just took a very large room and put in a wall in the corner and called it a bathroom. The problem is that because the ceiling are cathedral style, the walls of the bathroom do not go all the way up. Thus if you "have to go" it's not very private. Nor is it appetizing for the other person who is eating a sandwich just outside the bathroom. The interior wall of the bathroom is one large piece of clear glass. To have privacy you have to pull the curtains closed over the glass. The shower is also poorly designed. As I stated it's just a glass panel for a wall, and the shower floor is not sloped, it's flat. Therefore the water does not drain easily to the drain. It floods the shower area and spills over onto the bathroom floor and possibly onto the rug on the other side of the shower. However, this did not affect the comfort of the room but they really should have a better design.
The room is very large and would be a good size for an extended stay. The hotel itself has nice areas for walking around and outdoor seating. It's very leisurely. I thought the price was reasonable for what you get. One of the best things was the breakfast. I have never had such delicious scrambled eggs. They alternate the next day with eggs that are poached but also very delicious. It's one of the best parts of the stay! The garage was very secure and convenient. It's under the hotel. The LOCATION is incredible. From this hotel you can walk to the Church of Our Lady Victorious, where the statue of the Infant of Prague is located. You can also walk to the Charles Bridge which is something you don't want to miss. You can also walk uphill to the Prague Castle which is another must-see location. We also walked to the pickup stop for the Hop On/Off Bus. You could spend your entire stay there and be near all the interesting spots.

United KingdomWe liked everything about it.
It had character, especially the room where we had breakfast. Breakfast was included. We had a spacious living area as well as a bedroom and bathroom. It was very quiet, apart from hearing running water when someone was using the shower. There was coffee and pastries available in the foyer each day. The hotel had a lovely garden area to sit out if the weather was nice. The hotel was in a very safe area with lots of cafes and restaurants close by. We would especially recommend U Tri Jelinku for typical Czech food, cooked beautifully and a reasonable price.

Friendly, professional staff. Lovely historic building; great 'half-timbered breakfast hall, with excellent food. Room was large, clean, comfortable. Location was wonderful - in the heart of the region near the castle and embassies, with plenty of food options nearby. Easy to walk to all notable parts of the city.

United StatesThe constructive notes I would like to leave are: - Upon entry, I was asked if I was alone. Then I was told that it was strange because most people come as couples. Please be careful with that because someone may be a widow or have gone through a horrible divorce or abuse. - Also, if you want the person to track what they consume from the mini-bar, please tell them upon arrival. When I checked out, the staff person seemed upset and had to go check my room. Most hotels check afterward and bill you. If this is not the case, it would be good to know up front.
Appia Hotel is in a quiet location. The room was very comfortable with a wonderful bathtub. The breakfast and staff were also wonderful. And I am grateful for the help of printing my train tickets, and I am grateful for the staff who did speak English.

NetherlandsWe've been in Appia Hotel residences during our 3-night Christmas stay. and we loved it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I could say this is the best accommodation we had in years. All was great: the vast amount of room amenities (and the room was really big!), welcoming and accommodating receptionists, genuinely tasty and diverse breakfast, and great location on a quiet street in a centrally-located Prague neighborhood. I rarely give all ten to a hotel but Appia deserves it. Well done Appia Hotel team and all the luck along the way.

SpainIt's a bit steep price also on slow days (> € 150 a room) and you could get extra room surcharges upon arrival, which happened to us. Tip: just make sure you have all room arrangements with Appia black on white on paper when you arrive.
Solid location, close to the castle and within 10 mins walking to the Charles Bridge. Large rooms, good heating in Winter. Good breakfast.

United StatesThe underground parking was definitely a challenge, even for a small sedan. The location is slightly hard to find at night but overall very close to tourist sites (prague Castle, oldtown, etc.). Can't complain.
Wonderful breakfast and impeccably clean room and all other areas within the property. Every staff member I met there was very friendly. Recommend anyone who is looking to have a large sized suite with good breakfast, parking, and close proximity to touring sites in Prague.
