Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThere are relatively few breakfast tables available on the ground floor and during some time intervals you may need to either wait for one to liberate or ask somebody if they are willing to share it with you. One unpleasant incident occurred during the last day: since my son eats more slowly we thought we would just take 3 small sandwiches and let him eat them afterwards so as not to delay the check-out. When the lady from the kitchen saw that, she started screaming out of the top of her lungs something in her language which we couldn't exactly understand, but it had to do with the fact that we are not allowed to take food with us. While I can understand that it may be sometimes necessary to remind guests of such a rule in case they are abusing it (which I don't believe we were in that particular case), there is for sure a more civilized way of doing it.
The room was clean and the location of the hotel is very good. It is not luxurious, but offers overall good value for money taking everything into consideration. The receptionists were also friendly and helpful.

MoldovaThe hotel is decent, but I can only give it a three-star rating. We were provided with a spacious and comfortable room that had one big bed and a private bathroom. We were provided with a spacious and comfortable room that had one big bed and a private bathroom. You are not find there a shampoo and only one big towel for person. The room is cozy but you can find a lot of minor damages: a piece of a shelf is broken off, a crack on the mirror, and so on It was convenient to have an elevator, especially considering the amount of walking required in Prague. The staff at the reception were attentive and kind, and one of them even spoke Russian. Our stay included breakfast, which consisted of scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausages, salad, yogurts, two types of tea (except green tea), a coffee in machine, cheese and ham, bread and butter, and cake. The hotel is conveniently located near a metro and tram station. Tickets can be purchased through an application, although we opted to use the ticket machine instead. A single ticket for 30 minutes costs 1.5 euros and is valid for all modes of transportation, including the funicular. For those with a packed itinerary, a 24-hour ticket is available for 6 euros. Additionally, there are a few markets, as well as KFC, pizza places, and other restaurants nearby.

Czech RepublicThe noise from the hall (other guests speaking loudly in the hall late in the night) was a bit disturbing.
Overall good value for money, it was pitty that the breakfast couldn't be taken before seven, as I had to head out early because of work.

Italyvery small bathroom, no charging at the bedside, the appearance of the hotel and the quality of the elements are very old
good price, the room has some new furniture, but overall the hotel is old. From the outside the hotel looks very bad, it doesn't look like a 4 star, maximum 2, of course the room itself is not so terrible, it's fine for one night. The breakfasts are delicious. We were refused to check in before 15:00, so expect to be denied earlier. As a conclusion, for not much money you will get a good room for the night

IsraelThe breakfast didn't include fish that I am regular to eat, but it had vegeterian meals (I don't eat meat).
I was not looking for a fancy place, but a hotel to stay at night while my days were busy. The hotel is just five minutes away from Dejvicka metro station. I just love the area. It's quiet but has anything you need - a bakery, several restaurants, a pub, supermarket just behind the corner. The hotel met my requirements.

Czech RepublicThe receptionists on the other hand would need a bit of training in customer service. At least to say properly hello, if not to bother with standing up. I met at least 3, but just 1 one boy actually smiled and seemed to care.
Although everything is quite old, I absolutely don´t mind it, as soon as it´s clean. Your cleaning staff does a great job.
