Terrible mattress so we had a bad sleep no lift we had to use stairs to 3rd floor the nice lady in the restaurant did her best but spoke no english at all, i speak 5 languages but she only spoke czech. We mamaged by sign language but she was friendly.

The main thing that was badly impacting our stay was the lack of cleanliness. The facilities are fairly old, some furniture is torn, and used but that would be okay if they were at least clean. Upon our arrival we found a lot of hair around the bathroom and bathtub. One of the towels was also ripped and had holes in it, the same was with one of the bed sheets. Furthermore, the sheets were stained with black and yellow marks. One of the sheets was also too short for the bed thus it wasn’t covering the mattress fully. It was clear that the spots were there not because the sheets weren’t washed but because they were old and these spots were simply not washable anymore. Nevertheless, such sheets should be thrown out in a hotel setting. Right after our arrival we notified the receptionist about it to have them switched. But after returning to the room in the evening we found one of the pillow cases to still be the previous one with stains all over it. In general, the hotel was a bit dusty with spider webs in corners. The breakfast was okay but rather simple. For a few nights stay the variety was fine, but not for longer ones. Vegetarians have some selection of food, but definitely not suitable for vegans.

Hotel is well located in the old town center, just nearby the bridge and Vltava River. It has its own parking for reasonable price. Room was spacious and it had sauna in the bathroom.. Surrounding area, city centre, Lipno lake, Šumava is really beautiful.

Breakfast needs improving for sure. The selection was very basic, plus the breakfast staff needs a bit of reprimand. What happened was that the girl tending to the breakfast table was constantly on her mobile while the guests were standing there waiting for plates and food, after complaining we just got a cross look and the waiting continued. On the bright side, sitting outside on the terrace enjoying the park view is a plus.

The location was excellent, as well as the parking at the place. The reception staff was helpful and professional. The room was spacious (entrance area with a closet, little sitting room, a bathroom and a spacious bedroom with an extra closet space). Though the sitting room was very inefficient (little sofa, a chair and a fridge), could be used more creatively. We asked for a river view which we got so were happy about that. Everything was spotlessly clean just could use a bit of a modernisation. All in all maybe not a 4* really but a solid 3* for sure.
