This hotel certainly does not deserve its 4 stars. The glory days of this facility are long behind it. The bathrooms are clean but rather old. Although the staff was nice, one out of 2 ladies did not speak English. Breakfast is rather basic by Central European standards (ok for an ordinary guesthouse, but from this standard of hotel I would require salads, eggs, pancakes, and food for people with dietary restrictions). I managed to get gluten-free bread, but already vegetable milk (despite reporting it at 18 the previous day) could not be arranged (I did not report it, because it did not occur to me that a 4-star hotel would not offer it). Of course, these are all minor details that can be safely ignored - I mention them only for the sake of these undeserved stars.

The hotel is located just outside the old town, however, guaranteeing guests peace. The room is spacious, with a small closet (suitable rather for storing the belongings of 1 person, certainly not three). Both the rooms and other areas were sparkling clean. The hotel provided guests with good quality cosmetics, including body lotion. On-site guarded parking (for an additional fee) is available. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I would have liked a bit more selection of pastry and bread for breakfast - also, we had it a bit later and some of the food was quite dry or did not look very fresh.

The bed was nice and comfy. We really appreciated good heating as we travelled in very cold weather. The staff was extremely pleasant.

Room was too small. No restaurant, just a breakfast bar. No slippers or robe, which are customary, for a 4 stars hotel. A bit far from the train station, which was slightly inconvenient.

The typical negatives of old Czech hotels: really bad smell of waste came from bathroom pipes. No proper shower stall, just a bath and shower head. And despite advertising Queen beds on this site, they really only have singles that they push together. If you're a couple plan on sleeping separately.

There should be USB charger in the room. The internet speed can be further improved. The service like Bell Boy to carry the luggage in the room will be helpful.

The property has a great location. Everything is accessible and gardens are very near. It is the preferred location for the parents whose children are in the Charles University Faculty of Medicine.
