Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe dining area was locked the whole time. Don't arrive before 15:00 or you will be sitting outside.
It was pretty good value for money. Nothing fancy but it was clean and comfortable

FranceGreat location near the Ostrava Main Train Station. With a 2-minute walk, you have access to public transportation (trams + bus) to reach the city centre or any other places you want to visit. Love the self-checking-in and out system.

Czech RepublicHowever, there was no television, my friends didn't even have a carpet in their room so it was kind of cold there. We even decided to leave earlier than we actually had to. They don't offer no breakfast which is acceptable, but for the pricing i would expect a little bit more.
The beds were very comfortable and i like that the room was clean.

SerbiaIf you leave the key inside the room and go out, then you are lost. The door will be locked automatically. Yoy can come whenever during night, don't be missleaded by announcement at Booking that you should come before 8 p.m. Payment is through Booking by card. It was claimed that it will be in Euros, but it was in czk. This should be clear (probably it is not caused by the hotel but due to unclear instructions by Booking).
No physical reception at all - they rather use to send a code for entrance (the instructions are very clear). You can come whenever during night (not necesseraly before 8 p.m. as it is written on Booking). Near main train station and near public transport.

United KingdomIt would be nice to have a kettle and fridge in the room. The people upstairs were very noisy on the weekends, but the hotel was empty, so maybe space people more evenly, so that noisy people have a room somewhere else in the hotel
The location. Automated checkin. Passworded doors. Heating was good. shower was good. towels were included and glasses were included.

Polandthe decor of the rooms was rather rudimentary (ceramic tiles on floor and only fluorescent lighting in the ceiling) - the power sockets not well located for modern uses. As the hotel is self check-in - there is no possibility to leave things before check-in / after check-out
The self-checkin hotel - looking more like a dormitory - located very close to the main railway station. For the offered price the room had all basic things you would expect

SerbiaNo lamps near bed. Automatic door and no staff during night (also during the day), so if you exit the room without key to take something from the fridge which is out of the room, no possibility to come back.
Nice and clean rooms and bathroom. Nice linen. Fridge and possibility to prepare coffee or tea (you should take your own). Kind cleaning lady. The instructions how to open the main door of the hotel with the code are clear and will be received at around 3 p.m. at the day of arrival.

Czech RepublicWalls are like paper thin so you can hear pretty much everything in rooms above or next to you. If other guests are not very considerate that not everyone has to wake up at 6 or 7 am, you may have problem sleeping after that hour if you have light sleep. No curtains in windows, just this kind of rotating office stripes, so too much light in the room, so add some eye-cover to those ear tampons if you plan to sleep properly. they only provide tiny hand towells, so bring your own, as well as shampoo, since they only provide a small bar of soap.
Very well organized to check in. Location is pratical for anyone who need to be close to the station. Relatively new so still in pretty good shape for such a modest place. WiFi is really good. Water in shower is warm and nice.
