Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

IrelandApartment is obviously owned by a company with a number of properties. The power went in the building meaning we could not access our room via the code/box entrance method which is electrical based. We rang the number provided and the person did not want to know of our problem. We had a flight to catch and had to collect our belongings in the room. Agent did not care of our urgency, and hung up a number times. Had to call back too many times. Power came back on eventually (luckily). No chance we would have made the flight if we were to be left in the hands of the agent.
Incredible location, overlooking the Charles Bridge. Street outside the apartment has steps straight onto the Charles Bridge. Very easy to just look out the window and look at one of the main attractions of Prague. Room was very clean with a comfy bed and nice facilities. Bars and Restaurants all nearby within walking distance. Perfect place to stay as a base for visiting tourist attractions in the centre of Prague. Probably one of the best city locations with a view we have stayed in.

SingaporeThere is no enough toilet paper and we did not know how to get more. Also there is only a bath tub, there is no holder for the shower, so it was not convenient to wash hair, requiring manually holding the shower. Strongly suggest the owner can consider to install a holder for the shower.
The location is perfect, at the end of the Charles Bridge. Very convenient to go to old town or the castle via 10-15 minute walk.

Czech RepublicWe were unsatisfied with how the apartment looked compared to the pictures online, as it didn’t look alike. The communication with the staff happens mainly over messages on booking, as they don’t answer the phone and there is no one physically at the reception. We were awaiting 40 minutes to get to the apartment and when we realised we were missing towels (we only had 2 small towels, not for the hair or face/hands), we asked for them right away and received a reply the evening we left.
Although the property is in a very central location, it’s quite and affordable.
