Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandPerfect location - 100 meters through the park to Wenceslas Square. Great contact with a super nice owner :) And the apartment itself - just perfect! In an old tenement house, very spacious, nice and clean.

United StatesThe apartment and surrounding areas smelled faintly of cat. The wifi/internet wasn’t capable of having 4 devices streaming. The wifi really wasn’t great. The hot water ran out very quickly. Two consecutive quick showers was all the water heater was able to accommodate.
The key handoff was easy but it was hard to say when I’d be in town. We were traveling with a sick child so I couldn’t give the best estimate of arrival. I felt bad for not being able to tell our host an accurate arrival time but she was very accommodating. All beds were comfy.

BulgariaIn the evening there is traffic noise on the main street where it is located. But it is relatively quiet at night.
The apartment is centrally located next to the National Museum. There are transport connections to all parts of the city. The Old Town can be reached on foot in 15 minutes. The hostess is responsive and kind. The apartment combines classic style with all modern conveniences. It is extremely convenient for people traveling by train. 10 min walk to the Central Station.

RomaniaThe check-in or rather the check-in time slot is quite strict. We travelled by car and we had to arrive at the apartment at a specific time to meet the owner. Remember there is no available parking at the property so you need to mix & match everything quite well (apartment check-in & garage booking start). The apartment has no air conditioning and there is absolutely no option for sleeping with the windows open, because of the traffic noise outside.
Nicely refurbished apartment, equipped with everything that you need. Good location if you plan to visit Prague. Good private garage options (at extra cost) in the proximity.

ItalyFirst floor next to a busy road (the double windows make the noise acceptable though). Creaking parquet. Few dustbunnies and spiderwebs indicate that cleaning was not optimal. Hard mattress.
Good place for families and medium-long stays. Washing machine, large kitchen / living room, large bedroom. Good position close to the museum.

PolandI spent 3 weeks in the flat. I could comment on every point but I have only one conclusion. Great choice! The owner is a lovely person, she makes sure that the renter is safe and happy. The flat itself is very well equipped, I felt like I walked into my own home. There was everything, kitchen utensils, iron, clothes dryer, washing machine, dryer and even a curling iron! The place is quiet and safe. In the evenings you can see the beautifully lighted National Museum from the window. Only a few steps to the centre. Lots of shops, pubs and restaurants nearby. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and thank you for your stay Lucie.

Czech RepublicThe apartment had only been surface cleaned for what looks like a long time. Checking under the bed there was a 2 inch pile of dust underneath, I found similar behind the sofa. There were thick cobwebs at the base of the kitchen cupboards and in corners of the room, but the apartment had lots of cleaning equipment, shame it wasn't used enough prior to our stay. The toilet and bathroom area had strong smelling diffusers to cover the smell of the ineffective sewage system and since the apartment is located on a noisy main road the windows couldn't be opened. Looking back through the reviews it has been mentioned that there were stains on the sofa, there were still stains but now covered under a throw. The shower leaked to the point of being unusable, leaving only the half bath to use.
The apartment is in a great location next to the museum and in easy walking distance to the main train station. A number of supermarkets are within a short distance. The bed was really comfortable as well.

PolandApartment requires refreshing - painting mostly. Uninviting entrance to the apartment, dirty and damaged walls. Cleaning standard leaves a little to be desired. Smell of sewers in the toilet. It's a non-smoking place but smells of cigarette smoke. A lot of noise from the traffic. When we called the number given in the reservation for the whole day, nobody answered the phone.
Spacious, fully equipped. Additional bed for a child in the bedroom. The apartment if renewed would be really cosy and comfortable to stay in.

United KingdomUnfortunately there is a strange musty/damn/old smell which owner refuse to acknowledge, furniture is outdated by 8 years with lots artificial deco and flowers. Bath tub is half the standard size. No curtains and very noisy if you struggle with sleep. Nowhere near the 9.4 superb rating in reality it’s a 7 at best. Pictures of the place when it was new and not current. Overpriced for what you get. Owner refused to cancel or refund when I stated the obvious. Only book if desperate and much better offerings elsewhere.
Location is near the nation museum, apartment is big and has a newly fitted kitchen and fully equipped.
