if i had to mention anything, its the matrasses. I think they should be changed cause for a man it cant be that comfortable since they wont hold your wieght properly and you could wake up with your back hurting. Also the material of the sheets could be better. Thats it. Still fair for the price!

It's a great place for those who are travelling through somewhere. Nice staff, but not too much contact. They let you be and do your thing. Its worth its price. I choose them 2 times and i would choose them next time too.

The mattresses were OK but seemed a bit worn out

This time we got room 7, which is completely new. Room 7 is very spacious (there are 2 extra beds and there is a big bench). The bathroom is big as well. The shower has its own compartment and functions well. Penzion U Johnu is attracting lots of guests and has an international atmosphere (there were US, DE, SK and NL guests). The Czech food on the menu is OK and the beer (we advise black beer) is best. In the morning one can select a breakfast menu. We had scrambled eggs and omelet. For those who arrive by car: down the mountain there is an ONO tank station, which tends to be extremely busy (in Teplice there is a much more quiet ONO).

We have already visited 'U Johnu' many times. This time we got room nr. 1 which is refurbished and big: there is an ensuite room with two extra beds. The beds are brand new and we slept well. Presently the Czech mainland enjoys temperatures of almost 30 degrees; Pension U Johnu has 22 degrees due to its location on the mountain. Wifi works fine, the bathroom has hand soap and shower gel dispensers. The breakfast contains 2x coffee + a menu. The dinner is cooked according to the Czech cuisine. Down the mountain there is a ONO station for diesel & petrol.

Simple rooms, nothing special. Stuff is friendly but dont speak any foreign language. I speak a slavic language and undertand some words, but for other people it is hard.

Nice place to sleep close to the Motorway and close to the German/Czech border. Pets are alloweed and that was the reason for my stay here.

Forgot to connect to Wi-Fi until after I got in bed, there was no code anywhere in the room (that I could find) so I stuck to my data. Breakfast was ok, but could use something like free cheap juice or something like that. Basic coffee is free, but anything else costs extra, which is a first for me (on properties with breakfast included).

We were able to talk to the owner in regards to arriving later, he said no problem! :) The room was actually bigger than we expected, and the beds were super comfortable. Bathroom was nice and clean. The property has beautiful natural surroundings, and is very quiet. On the building itself you can see it's definitely a love project for the owners.

There is a dampness smell in the room. In our room, at least (room number 3). The building is very old, maybe this is where the smell comes from. The sewage smell in the bathroom is really bothering. In addition, evey time we used the toilet or the water (and anyone else), the shower drain popped up a noise. The price makes up for it :) For one night, it is ok.

Staff is extremely friendly. The room is clean. Breakfast is diverse. Very good value for money. It is quiet, although we had a room facing the street.

Well, this year the end of March brought wintery weather conditions with frost during the night. Happily the pension kept the heating of the rooms on during the whole night.

The third time we visited penzion U Johnu happened during the Easter holidays. Lots of people (from Germany) arrived during the evening and this brought a nice holiday atmosphere. Pets are allowed, so we saw many dog owners checking in. The pension has its own cat. We again got room nr. 2 with new beds, two chairs + round table, great Wifi reception and an adjacent toilet + wash basin (with hand soap dispenser) + shower (with shampoo dispenser). In the evening we ate downstairs. The cook had made first rate deer goulash. At present many rooms are being refurbished by the pension owner. Nearby one can visit Decin (wonderful baroque rose garden) and the spa town Teplice. Dresden is also within easy reach. We filled up our car with diesel at ONO (40 Eurocents cheaper per liter than in Germany). Highly recommended!
