Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThere is no staff at all on site. The directions and information came from sms or bookings messages. They were understandable, but it was not so easy to find the room. When you come to a dark and empty castle (almost no other guests), it would be preferred to have a living reception, if it is graded as a 4 star accommodation. There is no restaurant or breakfast served.
The hotel is in an old renovated palace. You feel like in a museum, old paintings, furtniture etc. - in a positive way:) The rooms are very comfortable and clean, as expected from a 4 star hotel. An unique and nice experience.

SingaporeWe had to call when we came as there was nobody at the reception. We did the self check in based on telephone instructions and during our two nights stay we haven’t seen any staff there. We were hoping to have breakfast there as well but as we had nobody to arrange it with, we had to make other arrangements.
The castle is beautifully renovated and still contains a lot of historic pieces of furniture and facade. It has a lovely garden.

PolandWe did not have any problems with check-in and check-out, but lack of staff was somehow disturbing (we did not meet any person, everything was done through SMSs). It's hard to complain about it as everything worked, but it was a little bit weird. A second minus is not related to the place itself, but do not come here hungry :) there is no restaurant at the hotel, nor in the closest neighbourhood.
The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable, although - if you're very tall (over 2m), it is too short. The palace is beautifully renovated and it's nice to sleep in such a historic setting.

Polandthere was lack of staff, and had a problem to get into my room as I didnt receive any message saying which room I should stay in and where I should get the keys from. I had the feeling that the hotel was not done in 100%, as teh restaurant was closed.
I liked the stay very much, cozy bed, very soft towels, and this feeling that you are almost the only one in the whole castle

DenmarkWe did not see any staff at all, not even at check in. There was no breakfast or any other food or beverages available. The was no room service or any cleanup during our weekend stay. Their website says that the cafe is open every day, but it was not open at all. The minibar was empty, and there was no kettle for boiling water, so we had to go shopping to get some sustenance the first morning. There was a sign that said restaurant, but there were no access to anything else than the cafe. And the cafe was closed. There was no letter or note informing us of the nearest restaurant, or maybe a place for breakfast at least. It would have been nice with some information about the area and nice places to visit close by.
The place is nicely renovated and in keeping with the chateau style. The room was comfortable and quite big. We had a junior suite. There are nice outside areas to sit and walk around. And even a ruin in the back of the garden. The hotel is quite close to downtown Ostrava, and some tourist attractions such as Landek and Bolt Tower. We were quite happy with the accommodation. And the price is fair. We didn’t mind to be all alone, as we enjoyed the silence So all in all the place is very lovely.

United StatesProperty had a beautiful landscape but gardens would needed to be better maintained and tailored to fully show its beauty. Also restaurant menu, and service is a lot to desired. Hot water in the rooms are just lukewarm.
Property was in the nice and remote location, however if you come in for the event in Ostrava then it is quite far from city center. Property has a lot of potential. Staff was friendly and welcoming upon arrival.

PolandThere was no Aircon except an old fan in an attic room - it was really hot. There was no kettle or any coffee making facilities or even water. No restaurant. No information or history on the castle in any brochure. There was a group of about 20 bikers/ hooligans booked onto the floor below us, who started a huge party at 00.00 am - middle of the night. My wife and I had to go down and threaten them with calling the police as our kids were woken up and quite afraid of the noise, shouting, cheering banging and loud music. It was totally horrendous.

PolandNot only no breakfast but also even no morning coffee was available at the place which was not good as there are no cafes in the vicinity. There is the cafe at the site but they were preparing the wedding and said it is closed. There was about 2 people except us - I think that they could manage to prepare fo4 coffees.
