As a solo female traveler, I feel like an all women's room would have been nice as well, though it worked fine with the mixed room provided too.

The hostel is pretty much right at a subway station from which you can reach most places in cologne easily; a bus stop is near as well. The area it's located in is very quiet, which was nice. The host was very lovely and helpful regarding any questions and finding your way around the city and public transport! He also provided me with a map for the subway / underground as well as a lock for the storage boxes. The included breakfast was nice, too, with a kitchen and supplies as well as some basic breakfast foods, tea and coffee included in the price.

I could see that the owner was quite strict but we didn't experience any unpleasantness or language barrier.

Location was great, very close to public transportation. We liked our 4-person room, everything was clean and comfortable, no issues with water temperature and pressure in the shower. Good kitchen that has everything you need. Check in times are limited, we were running late because of a bus delay but we called the owner and were able to move in slightly later.

Different from a chained hostel, this feels more like home🤣 comfy and delightful, the owner also introduced many sights to see and have advices.

Attention: This hostel is a family hostel so that you are not allowed to check in after 10 pm. If you arrived after 10 pm no one would let you in. I was almost going to sleep on the street when I arrived around 11:30, luckily two friendly guests let me in. The owner seems to be very unhappy about it and he thinks I am being rude, when the next day he meet me while I am explaining that was not my intention and my train is delayed that I arrived late. He said no excuse I am being rude. I feel this way of trading guests are not flexible and makes me feel not welcomed. So, if you are going to chose this hostel, make sure you arrive and check in before 10 pm.

I can't think of anything.

A very cosy place with a homely feel. After staying in big corporate hostels, it felt very good to stay here. It is not in the centre of Cologne, but it's in a very good and convenient neighborhood. The place was clean, the breakfast was simple, but good, especially for the price you pay. They could safely store my bicycle.

Wifi should be a bit faster and also have good connectivity. But that is fine due to hostel has many advantages.

Cleanliness and excellent service by the owner. Near to S-bahn, Tram station. Direct connection to Hauptbahnhof. Many restaurants are near by. Also supermarket ALDI in within the walking distance.

The place has tiny stairs, so keep that in mind. And the restricted check in times, can be bothersome. So keep that in mind you have to calculate your check in times.

The hostel is a tiny house on a street in Nippes. The reception is only manned for certain times and you need to calculate this in. Also you are given the keys, where you have to pay a deposit, which you will get back. The staff was very friendly and hostel is super cosy. The beds are COMFY and you also get a lock, to store your things. The bathroom is shared, which is fine as its on the same floor. Highly recommend this place, if you look for a place to stay on a budget.
