Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe stayed in a 4-bed room and only 2 beds were made, I went to tell the staff and they gave me two sets of bed sheets to make the beds by myself. Location is a bit far but close to a tram stop. You have to pay to leave the luggage at the hotel.
Breakfast has various options and freshly made pancakes from a machine. Fun for kids.

GermanyUnfortunately, very noisy guests walked barefoot in the halls, and the halls had a very unpleasant smell.
The room was clean and well-kept, and the staff was friendly. It's in a great location, close to a subway station, the central train station, and a supermarket, so it's easy to get around. The best part is that the hotel is pet-friendly. The breakfast was good, and the elevator made it easy to get around. The reception area has a vending machine, a bar, and even games for guests.

IrelandThey make you pay 20 euro deposit to use a pot. The guest kitchen is a microwave, plug-in burner, and coffee pot. If someone closes the door you need to go to reception to get the keycard to go back in. 5 euro deposit and your keycard to open the guest kitchen. The guy gave me the wrong card. I just went back and got my wallet which I left as collateral and went back to my room. Reception is braindead and the deposits to use the stuff there is ridiculous. Apparently the place is full of pot thiefs or something. Pretty stupid.
Clean, nice beds, good price.

NetherlandsThe USB charging port at my bed was broken. Sheets had some small stains on them. Quite a walk away from the station.
Basically, it's just a very decent hostel. The breakfast is nice. All my complaints are minor ones.

United KingdomSmall things, but they couldn't find the remote for one of the European football nights, so it was kinda boring, mostly because the weather was terrible, so one couldn't really go out. And it was funny how one guy left his luggage on one bed so nobody else could it, or maybe it was someone that went away and just left it there? And I was told there was a kitchen, but you needed a keycard to go in, which is strange, but then I heard you have only a few people allowed inside, so kinda defeated the purpose of cooking.
While I knew about the strange double beds in the room, it still looks strange have a bunch of bunks, and those ones. And the fact that we could watch some matches in the lounge area, and bring some outdoors food.

GermanyThey sent me way too many messages before my arrival! There is no need to send me all this information in advance, and it was unreadable due to bad message rendering. Definitely annoying. Though overall very clean, one of my towels had some stains that I saw randomly when holding it against the light from the window. I still think that the towel was well washed and safe to use, but those deep stains didn't look good when I noticed them.
I had a private room at this hostel and was overall very happy with what I got. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and if any neighbors were loud I didn't hear them. I slept very well. It is located at a residential area but you can be at the central train station in less than 10 minutes and in Stuttgart downtown in less than 15 minutes.

GermanyThe place is very poorly connected from the city center, only one U-bahn line runs near there in the morning, at night the closest thing to get there is a bus that drops u off 20mins from the hostel. Late check in is only offered at double the nightly rate, otherwise youre quite literally kicked out at 11am.
The front desk staff were good and very straight forward, the facility satisfied all basic expectations, no extras.

GermanyThe location is good - not so far from Stuttgart HBf. The prices are low - room costed me 18€ in march 2024, towel 1,75€. 6 beds rooms is big enough, but 2 of the beds are placed directly near to each other - very strange. Also there are no electric sockets at beds - only USB-A outputs, which are broken. Design is nice, but metal frames of the beds also make unnecessary noise... Room is generally clean. Shower room and toilet room (separatly) are both in the room. There is soap in the shower. Unfortunately the shower drain was clogged and i asked to fix that, what was not done :( Breakfast for 11€ has nice food and is worth it. Only problem - for some reason they don't let u put tea / hot water in your thermal bottle - only in the cups.

Very good price-quality ratio. It is very cheap and you get what you expect. The common rooms, kitchen, and luggage storage are good, although the vending machines are a bit expensive. Bedsheets and covers were clean.
