Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyIt's a more minimalistic type of hotel. There's a place to sleep, a small bathroom and that's it. Checking in was quickly done, checking out was "just leave the keys in the room". I went to a convention so all i needed was a place to sleep for a few hours and have a shower. That's what i got - nothing more, nothing less. The price is perfectly reasonable for the room given.

United KingdomNothing, we found it absolutely fine and comfortable for the money. If you want 5 star then you have to pay for 5 star!
You get what you pay for! The hotel might look a bit rough but the location was perfect and the beds were clean and super comfortable! The room was surprisingly good and comfortable so don’t be put off by the exterior! The perfect cheap place to just lay your head. The staff were super friendly and told us all about what was going on in the area. Cafes bars & restaurants are all around a very busy bustling area so lots of atmosphere and people watching :) There are no facilities at the hotel so we got up and went out for breakfast etc which was fine for us as we love to explore. Parking might be a bit tricky we were lucky to get a space right outside the hotel but this may not always be possible!

GermanyThe hotel is tiny and noisy. No sound isolation. For a one, two night stay, it's great if you are not a light sleeper and every noise wakes you up. The room I was in was very tiny and definitely not for tall people ;)
The location is nice. The bathroom was top, freshly renovated, and clean.

United KingdomThe pictures are nothing like the hotel that is advertised. There is no large sign of hotel or reception like it shows, most of the photos were taken 6 years ago and it looks like they have sold it to a noodle bar. Basically you go what is like a doorway, in corridor is a window where the guy didn't understand English, kept saying we had to pay even although I had paid before arriving. I stood my ground and kept showing him the booking.com page which showed i had paid, after what seemed like an eternity and him saying we still had to pay a few times to us he finally found it on his computer, seemed a chancer to me. The same key worked front door and our room which was 3 flights up. Only 1 curtain on each window. Found curtains in a unit in room where my husband stood on a chair to put them up so we could close curtains and not see daylight. It was a glorified hostel as it had its on bathroom. No safe to leave Passports etc so had to carry all valuables around. A very noisy area full of broken glass in the mornings, sirens constantly going and alot of homeless people around. Would not stay here again.
The bathroom was spacious, the room was a good size.

SwedenWe got a very compact room on the fourth floor (under the roof) without any moving possibilities at all. There where no elevator. The whole place stank from bad cleaning liquid. The pictures on the site in Booking.com weren’t acquisit. For example the Reception pictured turned out to be a hole in the Wall and the parking possibilities where poor.
Pretty well situated in the area

AustraliaThe location was VERY noisy. Noisy People outside the windows until 2 -3 am, and traffic noise started really early .. Summer so it was too warm to close windows to reduce outside noise. No air-conditioning or fans to help with hot and stuffiness when windows closed.
Good shower pressure. Pleasant staff. It was cheap. The room itself was value for money.
