Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Helpful, welcoming host. A great, modern room in a well restored 500 year old building. Very convenient quiet location for our visit to the Vitra Design Museum. Walking distance to a large supermarket. Excellent in house restaurant (sadly only open Wednesday too Saturday) had friendly staff and a very wide selection of Rosti (best I've ever had!), wine and beer.Choice of cellar or open air seating. Good car park.

NetherlandsLack of kettle was solved once I asked. The response seemed to suggest there's only one kettle available that's moved between rooms. The selection of tea was very limited. Only the notorious Hagenbute. Not my cup of tea...
Large, spacious and super cleam room and bathroom with nice duvet and very good towels. The farm shop next door was nice. It's was open and allowed us to buy some fresh fruit.

NetherlandsThe fan in the bathroom was making a lot of noise. This was caused by the fact that it wasn't cleaned for a long time. I removed (and cleaned) the filter after which the fan was quiet again.
Quiet rooms in the sense that you heard no cars/roads/trains = good for traveling purposes

GermanyWhile travelling with kids we would have wished for a breakfast option. Was not a big issue, though. I'd rather consider a proper FFP2/two-layer face mask in sound condition as a gold standard for a host, not reluctantly wearing a worn down medical two-layer mask.
Nice, clean and spacious accommodation. Would def. stay here again. Also a few cutlery items available.

NetherlandsThe wifi did not work. Very frustrating when you stay for work. Luckily booked only one night. At booking the room I also booked a table to eat in the restaurant in the cellar. The starter I ordered was completely forgotten by the waiter, although it was not very crowded and not very big. But it can happen, mistakes are made, only an apology would be in place. It took over an hour bwfore my simple schnitzel arrived. I had ordered 1 large beer, and did not drink much because I had an empty stomac. Because the main course arrive before starter I did not order a second. However, when I asked the bill they called 2 beers. I told the guy that came for the payment that I only had 1 beer. He asked the woman that had been waiting tables, they looked at the cash register, and he came back tot ell me the amount. Payment was cash only, and i did not get any receipt. After I left I suddenly realised that the amount was to high for just a main and one beer....I checked and they did charge me for 2 beers. That is deliberately scamming your customer The entry and staircase was all taped up on arrival, because it was going to be painted. The host told me it was going to be painted latrer next day, and I would not have any inconvenience of it. However, the next morning I heard noises and when i left my room it was full of wet paint.... during works, rooms should not be rented out, imo. Although beside the wifi problem the room itself was fine, I will not come back again. I stay i the area several times per year, and trhis was my worst experience in over 10 years. You can get better service about ewverywhere

United KingdomThe location is not ideal for somebody without a car. Taxis are available if you book an hour or so in advance. I was aware of this, so it was not a problem.
Very clean rooms and very helpful staff. Much better value for money than staying inside Basel town during Basel Art Fair. Only 5 minutes walk to the supermarket for food. Lovely to wake up to the sound of the church bells and birds singing. Very tranquil town.
