Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomStruggling to find a negative. There was a tiny bit of rust on one of the bathroom fittings.
This is an extremely tasteful conversion of a barn belonging to an old monastery. The barn is a large building which many retained original features. The conversion has provided rooms at perfect scale and with very good facilities. The furnishings are attractive and everything is of high quality. We ate at the in house restaurant and enjoyed local beer whilst our child played in the very good playground. All the staff were very friendly and kind We loved the surroundings of the old monastery, with space in a rural area. It was lovely and quiet and visiting the church is a must. Attention to detail was evident everywhere. House, surroundings and historic building everything was spot on.

GermanyThe pillows were not good at all so thin, that is the only complaint I have
Our stay was fantastic, the room was clean, pretty, spacious, with lots of natural light. It has an A/C which is great for the potentially hot german summers The breakfast was fantastic, assortment of hams, cheese and bread, salmon and you can ask for eggs. The location is really beautiful, right next to a 600 year old Monastery. It also has a beer garden with a nice area for kids to play.

United KingdomWe were unsure of where to park in the grounds. It was a bit confusing to find the hotel as there are lots of buildings in the grounds. We checked ourselves in on an iPad and it felt a little odd, as we had questions that a concierge could have assisted with. We did find someone that worked at the hotel later and they were incredibly lovely, so it was probably just bad luck that we didn’t see any one at reception.
It’s an absolutely beautiful hotel. Cutting edge in design and exceptionally comfortable

SwedenWhen we checked in, we were informed about the breakfast times and were not informed that breakfast was not included in the price. The breakfast was good, but not worth the price and if we had been informed that we would pay extra for it we would have skipped it. The rooms were a bit hot, even though the outdoor temperature was quite low for summer. Could look into better ventilation.
Very nice location and newly renovated rooms. The outdoor garden and restaurant is very nice to relax and have a simple meal for good value.

GermanyOur room (7) had no view at all - two very high ceiling velux-type windows, and lower windows which were more or less blocked by a marquee outside. This combined with the style of furniture and the flooring (which looks like concrete) made the room somehow depressing. The bathroom was a large wet room (open shower). Wonderful for those who need handicapped facilities, but for us very impractical, especially as the only place to hang our clothes/coats was in the bathroom. The feeling was reminiscent of a youth hostel. I caught a glimpse of a room on the other side of the corridor, it looked lovely, and much cosier. I wished we had had such a room. The hotel advertises tea and coffee making facilities, which I expected to be a kettle or coffee machine in the room, as in all the other hotels we stayed in this year. Actually this was the coffee machine downstairs in the breakfast room, and any drinks there were chargeable.
Location is absolutely perfect, and the building itself enchanting. The building was warm and clean. Excellent WiFi.

GermanyAt arrival there is no staff and check-in needs to be done online. It took several attempts to finally get my room key, as the system blocked. Travelling alone with two small children, this is not very comfortable. Paying online didn't work either and is only possible with credit card. There is a wonderful Biergarten, but food can only be ordered until 6 pm. I was just in time to order the last Flammkuchen (10 minutes spare...), otherwise I would've been left without food, again, while travelling alone with two small children. The pillows are rock-hard and very uncomfortable.
The location is great and the rooms are spacious and well equipped. I love coming here with my children, as the family rooms are comfortable & safe, there is a large playground, and the breakfast is very child-friendly. Staff at breakfast is super friendly and helpful.

BelgiumWe arrived in the evening with a few month old baby, during booking we requested a baby bed but to our surprise it wasn't there when we got to the room. Tired, with a sleepy baby we had to set up our travel bed instead. It was also not very clear where to go and where to park. There is a church outside of the window and we could hear the bells going every 30 min (the whole night!).. not ideal when you are trying to get a good rest during your travel.
The area is very beautiful and the staff super friendly! Very charming location! The staff made sure we had all we needed in the morning for breakfast.

NetherlandsCoffee and tea in the room would've been nice! I also think the rooms itself could be a bit more cosy with some warmer colours & decoration (like downstairs) but that's of course personal preference :)
