How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

After a 12 hour drive to Heidelberg we were looking forward to a good evening meal in the hotel to find that the restaurant was fully booked. Amazed that the hotel parking cost 25Eu per night. THis was not made evident on booking otherwise we would have stayed elsewhere. To cap it all it was difficult to exit this car park despite notifying lthe stall of our departure
Proximity to local transport as it was opposite the railway station and central bus stops. A nice modern room on the ninth floor with good views.

Have to say, that the staff should really check by themselves, that the air conditioner was not functioning properly. Or maybe it's really that bad They tried to move us to a different room, but the staff at night about 21:00, tried to convince us that it was normal... That it was their technology. If that is true, you should not stay in this hotel, until they changed it. It was so bad, and warm in the room and the floor on the way to the rooms.
Location, and the hotel is new. It's a good looking hotel.

Brand new shower problems. Fundamental issues like this shouldn't go missed. The waste can't handle the amount of water the shower puts out, so the cubicle floods in 30 seconds. Who designed this major flaw?

There is some noise coming from the outside due to the construction work being done in the square. The windows do a mostly good job at isolating it. The bedding and mattress could be better, it's scratchy and takes away from an otherwise very good room.
Great location with good transit connections for the city. Works very well for travel. The hotel is very well maintained and the rooms are well appointed and spacious.

Front desk need to be more friendly, my checking time is from 1pm which state at the booking.com however the front desk is not very friendly and informed that no room and need to wait till 3pm even indicate in my booking. The air con is not function? It could be hot during the midnight
Comfortable bed, great location and wondeful breakfast which I had the best in Germany.

Next to train station, next to construction. However, noise is completely cancelled when windows are closed.
It’s a new hotel, location is really good with tram and trains.

The floor and not just the floor was very dusty, it's understandable as outside is a construction work ongoing... but even so, the room should be checked before handing the keys.

My search parameters included air-conditioning and a charging station for electric vehicle. Although listed as available on the Booking site, the hotel has no air conditioning and the charging station isn’t yet installed. The rooms are stuffy and, in the case of south exposure, hot. Opening a window is possible, however the noise (heat pumps opposite or the train station) make this a lesser option for peaceful sleep. Although in pictures the hotel looks good, the reality was- for me- disappointing.
The best thing about this hotel is the personnel at the reception: welk-trained and ready to do what it takes to satisfy their customers, truly exemplary!

the bed situation was a problem. like many european "queen" beds, it was actually two small beds pushed together. but the beds were on a smooth floor - not carpeted - and seemed to have slider "feet". so the two beds would slide around all night. the worst issue was the climate control. i stayed in spring -- i can't imagine how bad it will be in summer. they have a weird non-standard system which doesn't really let you set a temp for your room -- and pretty much doesn't work. the town was only moderately warm during my stay, but my room was around 74 F. definitely not comfortable.
the location -- essentially attached to the hbf train station -- was perfect for ease of getting in and out of town. the upstairs bar was also quite good. and the kitchen was able to serve food until 11pm -- a rarity in heidelberg.
