Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyOur room had no TV, a very small table and no means to prepare tea/coffee. It could have been nice to have these, especially when traveling with kids. With 3 kids, there was no option to book a family room (as much as I saw, they can only contain up to 2 kids).
We (a family with 3 kids) stayed in a team room (3 bank beds), which is not designated for families but was nevertheless comfortable and very modern. The kids were very excited about the bank beds and the private closets for each member. The room was super clean and the beds were very comfortable. We added a breakfast, although it was not included in our room's price and it was very good with a large variety of food and drinks. The hotel has a parking garage (although not free) and the location is very good, next to the Deutsches Museum Verkehrszentrum (which is great for kids) and 3 minutes walk from an U-bahn station.

United StatesNothing. It was fabulous.
Beautiful, modern, comfortable hostel. There were all sorts of brilliant attention to details. Roman numerals mark each bed which correspond to each locker, and each towel hook. The cubbies are lighted with charging stations, each bed has a light and a charging station so it’s like a private little room. The balcony overlooks the park. Air conditioning. Comfortable beds, soft sheets, fresh blankets and pillows. Everything was lovely and surpassed expectations.

For a hostel, this felt really luxurious. Everything was nee, clean, and had a nice style. The restaurant/bar downstairs was beautiful and served good quality drinks and food.

CanadaThis hotel was perfect for us. We were a family of five travelling with a family friend. We had a dorm style room for 6 people. This was not your typical dorm room. It was clean, modern, with big lockable cubicles for each guest, two big modern showers and a separate bathroom. It has big bright windows and quiet central air conditioning. It has a big private greenspace that felt like a communal backyard with kids playing soccer and badminton and adults enjoying cold drinks in the provided lawn chairs. It has a restaurant that serves an excellent buffet breakfast for a reasonable price. Being Munich, beer is always within easy reach. An Augustiner beer hall and garden is a 2 minute walk. The hotel itself has a bar and cart in the greenspace serving beer and wine. Getting to the train station and Munich's old town is easy via a subway station 5 minutes away. The hotel is right next to Bavaria Park and the German Transportation Museum.

DenmarkIf you are very tall (190+) the bunk beds may be short for you. Mattresses are quite soft.
Cool boutique hotel, cleverly designed. We loved our 6 bunk-bed room, perfect for a family with 3 kids. There is a fabulous big lawn in front of the property designed like an outdoor lounge, where you can enjoy the sunshine and get a drink from the bar. Nice breakfast, nice neighbourhood with local restaurants.

United StatesWatch out for the bathroom floor- it gets very slippery when wet and there's isn't much keeping the water in the shower.
This hotel exceeded expectations, and I would gladly return to stay again for a longer duration. From the start, the front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, and the lobby was fun and inviting. The outdoor courtyard was bigger than I expected, with lots of chairs for sitting and room for the kids to safely romp around. Our family room featured sliding doors to divide the kids' space (including WC) from the parents' space (including shower/lavatory), and the juliet balconies were great for letting in fresh air and listening to city sounds (which were relatively quiet, considering we were facing a street). I was relieved to see that the staff had already made the sofa into the kids bed. Despite concerns over the comfort of the sofa bed based on reviews, our kids said it was comfortable to sleep on (although it was certainly firm). The included breakfast was generous and high quality- the weisswurst was a highlight! Although the hotel is a bit set out from the central Altstadt of Munich, I really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere of the neighborhood and the U-Bahn station is a close walk away.
