How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. One guy cooking (Food look great) 3 women really not very nice to customers maybe it's because someone had the idea of women served the Truck driver won't be any trouble? Needs rethinking
Room was clean & bedding clean!! Shower smelt like a curry house & one of the towels had blood stains! Bed was comfy slept well needs better door security!

Horrible smell in toilet, no heating in room, main light just kept on flickering even after 10 minutes.

There was no wifi, and LTE was not working. Although it says there is breakfast on Booking.com, they did not accept breakfast in room price.
It was clean and it has many free place to parking.

The person at reception didn't even say hello. The way she greeted me was: It's closed !!!! And then, after making sure I had made a reservation, she said very quietly: Your name and I said: excuse me? and she looked at me like I was an idiot and told me again very slowly: your naaaaaaame! She was not familiar with the word please, so I had to tell her that I was not getting the room for free and that she should be patient. It was the first time I ever tried a motel over booking. I will NEVER do that again. I went to the room afterward and the hallway smelled better than the room. If it hadn't been midnight I never would have stayed. I usually never do this but it was really a no go and I use only this platform to book my business trips and maybe I have to reconsider it.

The bathroom smelt of sewage. When we previously stayed it wasn't an issue but this time the smell was really bad. As we were travelling we put up with it but wouldn't stay again

Customer service was appalling. Both staff made clear attempts to avoid us on arrival. When we asked about our booking, we were told aggressively that there were no rooms and we couldn't stay. When politely trying to show the Booking.com reference number on my phone, the staff member started shouting, "No rooms, not possible, no" whilst waving her arms at us. At 9pm in the evening, with two small children, we could hardly go anywhere else. We had also used the app to indicate when we would arrive and got a response back to say everything was sorted. Presumably that is an automated response; Booking.com need to improve this process or not offer it. We had nowhere else to go, so after standing in the entrance way with all our bags, another member of staff reluctantly gave us a form to fill out, told us to queue at the petrol station to pay, then handed us a key. We walked around until we found the room, which was reasonable, although had a lot of flies and silverfish in it. Had we not had the children with us, I would have slept in the car rather than stay. If it was my business, I would dismiss the staff member for gross misconduct. I can't imagine speaking to a customer or a family this way and completely ignoring a booking. It really upset the kids and they felt anxious about staying. Unless you have no other options, I would avoid this Autohof at all costs.

Reception completely unprofessional. 20 min of waiting just to proof i paid via booking.com Morning breakfast chef pretending to be a doctor and asking rude way did i was vaccinated twice. No... i was vaccinated once by Johnson Daaaaa! Doctor chef.
