Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaJust one thing, it was a bit of a walk from the train station for an old guy. The street the bus uses was closed for construction, so it wasn't really worth walking from the detour.
The hotel was very good, close to places to eat and some of the sights to see. Was good value for the price.

United KingdomWe could hear someone snoring in an adjacent room. Perhaps better sound insulation could be considered.
The location was ideal for visiting sites in the town and the Wartburg Castle. The facilities at the hotel were excellent. everything worked and the breakfast gave a very good choice.

United StatesBreakfast was a minimal offering.
The hotel was quiet and rooms were basic, but clean. There was free parking provided. It sits next to an Augustiner Brauhaus, which was convenient and it was an easy walk into the center of town. Good value.

GermanyThe only complaint I have, and it's not really a complaint at all, is that it's a bit of a walk from the train station, which isn't really a problem, but when you're visiting and carrying all your stuff with you, not the best. Still worth it though!
Breakfast was hearty and delicious. The room was comfortable, with enough space for the things I brought with me. It was never too hot or too cold, which I appreciated.

GermanyThis was my worse experience in 30 years of travel. Before I booked online I confirmed by phone that I could arrive at the hotel late night as I finish work late. A lady confirmed that I could ring on the day until 21.00 to check-in by phone. When I tried so on the day at 18.50 a very unfriendly man answered the phone. He told me that I am to late and that it's not possible anymore. I also had given the wrong phone number. I wondered about the wrong number. When I asked if he could confirm the number he replied: " you really think I look up again your number. I told you it's wrong". I replied: ok. But can we find a solution? Your colleague said it would be possible until 21.00. His answer: "The desk is occupied until 21.00, but your check-in had to be done until 18.00." I asked still in friendly manners: Mister, I worked the hole day. Is it possible to find a solution? Then I got word for word this reply: "I surly worked more than you today and for sur I earned more money then you." What???? I felt there was just an unfriendly, rude person on the phone and I gave up fighting for my reservation. I asked for his name as I was never treated this disrespectful in my life and he answered: "Yes sure. My name is Dr. Michels". I finished the conversation as followed: -Ok, I see you don't want to help me. You can keep my money. I look for another hotel. His answer was:"I don't need your penuts".(and kept them anyway) I stayed over the hole conversation friendly as I got educated. Dr. Michels seems to feel above his average costumers in a B&B. When I had the time after to check the reviews of the hotel closer I recognised that this "Dr." has failed various times in the past with other costumers. For me this "gentleman" shouldn't reply on phonecalls, nether should be in contact with his clients as it seems that he doesn't appreciate at all. Karma will do the rest

NetherlandsRooms were very tiny. Too tiny for the price you pay. Furthermore, carpeting on the floors which made the rooms dusty and not pleasant for people with astma / allergies. You have to pay extra (although only 6 euros) for a parking place which is not very customer friendly especially considering the already high room price. Value for money is wrong. We stayed in another hotel in the same place at a comparable location 2 weeks earlier for half of the price with a better service, more space, cleaner rooms. Furthermore, they wake you up at 8 o'clock in the morning on purpose. While they pretend you may leave up to 12 o'clock they do not want you to leave that late. They constantly check whether you left and make you feel unwanted. When they wake you they say sorry but move to the next room to wake the next room. Also not customer friendly. Breakfast is expensive. You can better walk into the town and have breakfast over there. Furthermore, they overbook the rooms which results in that if you arrive late you may have the change of not having a room although you have reserved it!
Place in the city was nice. Everything was available in the neighbourhood at a walking distance

United KingdomNothing ! Perhaps, more family rooms would be a great idea as travelling with two kids can be expansive if you have to take two rooms.
Breakfast was great and we were glad that we could have breakfast in constraint covid conditions. The receptionist was very nice, all procedures clear and we were helped to find the best parking arrangement for our car as we arrived late and the hotel car park was already full. Fantastic location, altogether a great experience !
