Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyThe bathroom had a bit of sewage smell, but at least it kept within the bathroom and it wasn't felt in the bedroom. A few more cushions to be able to sit on the bed would be appreciated. In our last day house service entered 3 times to our room, at 10:00, 11:30 and 11:55 (check out is at 12:00) even when we had not disturb signs; if you don't have enough time to clean the rooms before next guests then change your check-out times.
For the price it's quite good. Reception staff was nice. The bed was comfortable. The desk came with two stools instead of only one. The wifi worked quite well the time we were there, at least I watched a couple of football matches without any interruption. The location is good, it's well connected (in Berliner Tor there are several S-bahn and U-bahn lines and it's only one stop from the main station), but it isn't as chaotic as closer to the main station.

RomaniaI didn't like that the reception made feel like going to hell. Had to call multiple times to request a pin code to access the room and I only received it 10 minutes before closing time. Worst service of any reception desk until now. Also I didn't like the small blankets in the room.
Location is great, close to U-Bahn, S-Bahn, one station away from main railway station. Room was clean.

United Statesthe rooms were small and had no hot pot or refrigerator. There were no restaurants. our last night in Hamburg we ate at a Burger King. it was only place we could find. The front desk told us they did not know how to call us a cab as we wanted to go to the Paulaner Gasthaus, of which there are 2 in the city.THEN the next morning front desk said they couldn’t mail my addressed/stamped cards. The linen was too. Not a good last stop on our trip thru EU.

Turkeythe staff was quite disappointing. the communication of the staff with the customers is quite poor. lady in the lobby desk always chatting with people in the outside. we asked staff to call us a taxi but the staff was annoying and they always misunderstood us and they couldn’t even call us a taxi. there were no minibars in the room and the room was dirty and housekeeping was really poor. there were so maany dust in the room, the carpets were dirty, and the ventilation was really bad.

Location is pretty good - one train station away from Central Station in Hamburg. Self-Check-In possible. No Check-Out in the morning needed - you just leave. Nice and friendly staff.
