How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Would have preferred to have been 'pre-warned' re. the city tax, thought for the reason above, we were 'happy' enough to pay it.
Very pleased with the location - a 15 minute tram ride from Rostock Hauptbahnhof. - An extra charge was added to our bill for the room (city tax), but the good news was that that entitled to us to free travel on public transport during our stay in Rostock. Thought that the triple room was 'made up' very nicely - 2 bunk beds and a double bed!

The entrance. The elevator was not properly clean and smelled badly. It lower our expectations.

They forgot to empty the bin. Air conditioner made some noise.

Arrival with luggage is difficult since the parking is available only after the check-in and there is no short-term parking. After the arrival, we payed 10,00 € parking fee only to figure out the parking lot was overbooked.
Nice and clean rooms. Breakfast clean and efficient.

No cooling/freezing camera in the room. Room is rather small for 3 people, almost all space occupied by beds. Too expensive city, including city tax. The room pretends to be in middle+ class, though it is not. No water proposed at the reception as a welcome.
Clean & neat new hotel. Located almost in the downtown: 1 tram stop from S-train station and 40 min walk from central railway, with Aldi & Lidl near. No check-out procedure

Parking, knew there was an issue about parking before arrival so parked on the street beside hotel. Was advised not to park there as dangerous. But the cars in the car park were literally 4 meters away. Was sent to a car park 5 mins walk away which was advised it was free from 8pm to 8am. Signs show it is free from 6pm to 8am. It would be important for a person working in a hotel to know this. Meant we had to leave early to remove the car before 8am. The street beside the hotel did not have a time restraint in place.
Good price, clean, did what it was supposed to do.

We didn't find the pillows much comfortable. We had some difficulties to get sleep. You could provide other options or alternatives for that.
Breakfast is an excellent value for money, the wi-fi connection is great, and the location is next to an S-bahn station and Tram a few minutes from the city centre, straightforward self-check-in, and no need for check-out at the reception, as we just had to leave the hotel at the time.

Since the building is in a central location, it was a bit noisy outside (I think this is also because we had to open the window in the entire nightbecause it is summer time). The room in general and the bed specifically were very comfy! I wish we had lighter blankets proper for summer time, too. And also the pillows could have been firmer or at least more pillows could have been provided. All in all it was very good to stay there ❤️
Excellent staff and cleanness! And alsu reaching there with public transportation is super easy. Many thanks :)

The standard room is quite minimalistic, there's no option to keep things cool or to store valuable items. The parking situation is a bit confusing and there's no option to reserve a spot, as it's done on "first come, first serve", but it's free once you've found a spot!
The reception lady was super friendly and provided us with a map for hotel-owned parking. Everything was clean as expected.

The parking space is not enough. the outside parking or street parking is very difficult to find space.
The hotel location is ok and Easy to check-in and out. The staff checked everyone's vaccination or schnelltest carefully. The hotel is safe.

The shower was a little small but fine for us. No luggage storage facility
Easy to reach the harbour, rostock hbf and Warnemünde. Good size room, supermarket just a couple of minutes walk away, and very quiet.

The worst experience I had. Untidy room, dirty beds (lots of hair and unidentified particles on sheets and pillows, stains), dirty floors, curtains with white spots. I have photo and video evidence.
