There’s no lift but they did make that very clear. I was at the very top, in the furthest corner, so a bit of a climb with a heavy bag.

It did not have an elevator, but the nice receptionist carried my suitcase up.

The location right between the street with the train station and the old downtown was great; and it still was quiet. My room was comfortable and had a balcony. The breakfast was mostly organic - very nice!

It is a hotel in the old town area of ​​Freiburg, easy to reach. The historic building makes it enchanting with its wood and tapestries. The room was perfect and silent. Excellent breakfast and beautiful room to start the day, between sweet and savory. Overall, more than satisfied, I will definitely be back

Only very slight problem was we were staying on the very top floor (4) and we had a large suitcase between us.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was wonderful typically German, delicious. The location is brilliant not too far from the station and 10 mins walk (at a very gentle pace) to the munster. Also its close to a park which is lovely to have green space nearby in the city.

The room was spacious, splendidly clean, and had a large, beautiful balcony. A modern bathroom and excellent bed, and all of that within five minutes walking of the train station, the theater and numerous cafés and restaurants. Here’s two things to illustrate further how Hotel Barbara made me feel right at home: One, instead of a mindless mini refrigerator in the room there was a bigger one in the lobby, filled with good quality drinks. Second, the TV in the room was unplugged. Unplugging the TV is usually the first thing I’d do in a hotel room, here, for the first time, similar thinking from the hotel staff. Lovely.

The shower was quite slippery and the door leaked water on the floor of the bathroom.

The room was very cute and quiet. The bed was quite comfortable. Breakfasts were great. We also enjoyed having a little balcony. The hotel's proximity to the train station was another plus.

Nothing significant. Perhaps, a bit striking smell of air freshener in the room in the beginning, but it disappears after keeping the window opened for some time.

Attentive reception, cozy antique design inside the hotel and in the room, good quality of furnitures, comfortable bed, heated rooms, quiet side street despite the proximity to the train station, sparkling clean bathroom, wifi, potable tap water. We were happy to be proposed an option of no daily room cleaning service and towel exchange. Special remark goes for delicious breakfast, the dining room design, and the music selection, which makes breakfast itself an experience and perfect start of the day.
