It was hot in Hamburg for the week we were there. Our room wasn’t air conditioned and got quite warm overnight. Opening the windows solved this but unfortunately the noisy early morning deliveries between 6 and 7am in the street below our window woke us early every morning.

Great location, clean, comfortable and efficient. More character than more international hotel chain offerings . WE didn't dine in the hotel as we were meeting friends, but there are plenty of options for breakfast, luch or dinner in the area

I wish European hotels offered wash cloths in the bathrooms as opposed to bringing my own. When I requested some, I was told that there were none; but on the last day I then discovered some in the WC in entry level..

I enjoy the small boutique style of the property, the location convenience, selection at breakfast was also good.

The room accommodated comfortably the four of us. It was clean and quiet. The breakfast was excellent and the location allowed for easily stroll around Hamburg without taking public transport. However, the Hotel also kindly offered a transportation card for all the members of the family. We would recommend this hotel.

Breakfast was lavish in German manner. More than anyone can eat with great variety. Baseler is an old hotel redone in good taste, excellent small meeting facilities. Rooms are on the small size. AC is rarely needed in Hamburg, but there are summer days, sometimes prolonged, where the lack of AC is a problem. Bathrooms all modernized but old deep tubs remain which makes for a less than satisfying shower experience (high step-over) and a half glass enclosure that is not great. Location is excellent, eating choices within walking distance, also shopping and boat cruises.

The hotel offers a free big bottle of water and two 3-days bus tickets, very thoughtful. the rooftop has a bar, quite cozy at night. The staffs are really nice.

I have stayed at Baseler Hof many times before lockdown, but this was the first time after four years. The room was clean and had a good size bath. This is a lovely hotel with longstanding staff, the decor is a bit dated now, but that adds to the charm.

No aircon or ventilation in the room, and windows do not open fully so it becomes a bit dry in the nights. The double bed is actually two single beds put together, so there is a big gap in the middle and so I had to sleep on the side of the bed. The reading lamps on the sides of the bed were not attached really on the sides but kind of on the top pf the bed. (I assume room was designed for single bed and converted to double). Laying on the side of the bed due to previous point above, I kept hitting my head to the lamp in the night.

The room is quite old, yet it still functions and was comfortable enough for us.

The hotel is centrally located close to a metro station and several touristic attractions. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and it is possible to get free public transport tickets for the duration of the stay. The room was decent but needs remodeling.
