How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Good hotel and the staff was very nice. Very good breakfast, 15 minute walk to the city center, large room. I find that the room could have been a bit cleaner in the corners, but overall it was a pleasant stay

Light, airy comfortable room. The staff were very helpful, arranging early checkin and somewhere to store my bike. Very convenient for the station.

Given proximity to Railway station, it's not quite so convenient for the city centre, but it's still easy walking distance.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Though breakfast wasn't included, it was worth paying the extra for, given the wide choice on offer in the buffet, all to a high standard of presentation and quality. The hotel is very convenient for the station and in a mainly pedestrianised street. The room which happened to be at the rear of the building had a very comfortable bed and proved quiet at night. Would be happy to stay again when in Aachen.

Roadworks starting early outside - not the hotel’s fault though!
Room was vey clean. Staff helped me out with a phone charger and were very responsive.

Some noise from the street, but earplugs blocked it.
Good location. Cozy interior- looked like the place had been painted/renovated recently. Lovely welcoming personnel. A good-sized room with a big sofa. Excellent breakfast.

Booking.com doesn't offer another option to pay a reservation like PayPal or any other for people that doesn't have a credit card. That complicates the whole process.

I did not find any minuses in my short stay
Cute little hotel, very cozy and comfy. Nice staff and very tasty breakfast. It was also very quiet. Close to historical center and Hauptbahnhof

Perhaps a cattle for tea or coffee in the room would be great.
A bottle of free mineral water each day. Very friendly staff. The location is close to the station and not to far from the city centre.

Coffee and tea making facilities in the room would have been very nice. The bathroom was a bit small, but a good shower none the less.
Very friendly ladies at reception, who made you feel very welcome. Room was comfortable and quiet. We slept very well indeed. Very conveniently located, and just a short distance on foot both from train station and from city centre. Building is an old building, so a nice staircase and high ceilings in the room.

Location suited me for getting to the station and was a pleasant walk to the centre. Staff were friendly and helpful. No buffet at breakfast currently but system worked well. Felt clean and comfortable and room was a good size.

The front desk has limited hours. So after a given hour, you have to use a key to enter the hotel through a back door. My first night there, when I cam back at 15:00, the front door was shuttered and I had to let myself in the back way. Although every thing worked, God help you if you lost your key
The best thing was the breakfast. At check-in you choose what you want to have and they prepare your breakfast table at your preferred time. You can have seconds and everything was great. No jumping up to keep getting things.

Breakfast was a little basic although the host at breakfast couldn't have been more welcoming, overall a nice meal to start the day in a nice environment - had I been staying longer though maybe I'd have wanted more options.
Staff were very accommodating. Was a very late, last minute booking and the lady actually waited over for us to arrive despite reception closing at 6pm. Room was comfortable and clean, facilities were good and it was a welcomed break after a significant time travelling. Well placed location near the train station local amenities.
