We stayed in an annex that was at one time another hotel. Not sure why they put us there.

The hotel is seriously understaffed, with one person who seems to do reception, waiter service and everything else in the reception area. Not sure why the restaurant was closed.

This is a fine, historic hotel with a famous restaurant (closed during our stay). The lobby facilities are limited, but pleasant and I like the fact that there was free beer, wine, coffee and tea in the evening. Also a welcome bottle of local wine.

So what offset the wonderful service all around was the datedness of the room, and, in my case, too much furniture. Also the bedding was a bit old. A cotton blanket instead of the acrylic would’ve been nice.

The service was excellent with a lot of little special touches like: complimentary warm milk and honey! A small welcome bottle of wine, fresh water every day, well-stocked minibar, and lovely selection of coffees for the Tassimo machine. The towels were nice and bathrobes are available.

The room is very dark. There are many lights but none of them is suficient to read or work. There was construction work which produced terrible noice, starting early in the morning. Garage costs 25 Euro extra. The breakfast was not what I expected for a 4 star hotel. The room was not done during our 2-night stay, but on our last day the cleaning staff entered the room before 9:00 o'clock even without knocking!

The most comfortable bed I have had recently, spacious and clean room, great location.

Directions for walking from the railway station to the hotel could be clearer. Also would be useful to know which tram to take from the railway station to the nearest stop for the hotel and also name of the tram stop for the hotel

Location is a little away from the town centre so it is very quiet. Excellent breakfast and good choice of food for all tastes. Room was very comfortable although not on the same level as the lifts, 3 or 4 stairs to climb - not a problem with hand luggage but inconvenient for heavier luggage. Walking distance to all the local sightseeing attractions with plenty of bars and restaurants around the town

Older room with a small bed. It was still comfortable but expected a bit more flair for the price.

The location was great. It's easy to just go downstairs and walk into the city.

The hotel was very helpful as had to add an extra day stay for 6 people. The hotel was able to help vs the BW customer service line could not assist.

Although they offered a bar - it was not open the 1st night and 2nd night offered a ‘open bar’ that was only stocked at opening so depending when you arrived choices were slim. But thank you for the free drink!

The location was terrific blocks away from downtown area, restaurants and entertainment. The staff was very helpful and when we needed to extend our stay the onsite staff was gracious to assist vs the International support that offer zero assistance. Thank you to the local staff!

Could not process credit card through hotel system, because it did not work, but terminal was not accepted by my credit card issuing bank, because of security concerns. Bank states, that hotel should follow PSD2 rules.

My room was in annex - new, spacious and comfortable. Location is good, breakfast - wide choice and tasty.

There are some small touches that could do with the management's attention. We had an aged room - no other way to put it - the curtains, the shower, the carpet, the sofa, the desk - they have all seen better days. It feels like the hotel tries very hard to keep up high level of service but it just didn't quite work. I get it that it's an old building but there are 10 or so stairs at the entrance to the hotel reception once you enter - we had very heavy luggage and the last thing to impress is when you have to drag 30kg luggage up the stairs to check in. There were also stairs on our floor on the way to the hotel room - not many, yet enough to sigh and wish for a flat corridor or a ramp at least. A very strange thing at breakfast, which was very nice with plenty of choice but not much seating - one waiter was doing all the work, very pleasant and helpful and running around non stop. Everyone else, however, was aloof, not talking, not interested in anything. It was quite strange. I said 'good morning' to one lady waitress 3 times when she was putting a napkin in front of me, I never got an eye contact or a reply.

Excellent location - it is easy to walk anywhere, all the sights are within walking distance. We took the tram from the Hauptbahnhof to the hotel which was easy and direct.

Shower seemed very slippery, and drain was a little slow.

Great location, large room, clean, plugs on both sides of the bed, refrigerator and coffeemaker, great A/C, parking on site in garage (also for bicycles).

It is confusing to navigate the hotel because it has an extension to the original hotel which is only possible to take a walk through a hall and get a second elevator to reach your room. The signs are not helpful to follow this route either. Imagine trying to do this with a couple of luggages. A big turn off…

Historical vibes at a calm atmosphere

Lack of available parking. Hotel parking was full despite having reservations. Had to park on the street a block away. We then left for dinner. Upon returning from dinner I had to park six (6) city blocks away after driving around 30 minutes since I couldn’t find parking close to the hotel.

Friendly staff, excellent cleanliness and facility maintenance. Very comfortable bed. Pleasantly surprised by quality of the breakfast buffet. Will return.
