No wifi! Absolutely no one to talk to - reception was only a phone with a red and yellow butten, if you try to use it it rings engaged all the time. They can make more effort woth customer care!

Check in process was painful. Arrived after 6pm and found a note to say press a yellow button......but no yellow button (it was out of sight under a counter). Eventually found the cleaner who took us about 500m away to a restaurant to check-in.

I was “upgraded” to the sister hotel Goldenen Lowen without my permission (i don’t know if this is a good thing). There are barely any plugs in the room or near the beds. No full length mirror and one fan for two people during hot days isnt enough. Also be advised the advertised price on this website is not what you pay because you need to factor tourist tax.

The area is perfect for all things walking distance. It is clean, comfy, and enough for two people.

The hotel is short staffed and The employees are clearly overworked and exhausted and you will feel it dramatically. I don’t blame the employees ! We have witnessed that they are working hours looks crazy with early shift in the hotel and late shifts in a restaurant associated with the hotel in the evening. This does not seem to be a one time thing but a recurring one! It really negatively affected our stay and I really felt sorry for the employees.

Very loud!!! You can hear everything from the hall and other guests. Unluckily there were a couple of disrespectful guests that were parting and being super loud until pretty late. There is no hotel staff at night, so no one to complain to.

The staff weren’t very helpful. Chaotic check in. When we arrived we were told to pick up our key from the restaurant. We got there and they said no it’s in the hotel. We waited 15 mins for someone to turn up even though we had called them and messaged them prior to arrival. We had booked parking but the lady in the hotel didn’t know. Communication was poor. The room was very stuffy

That was written, that we can check in till 23:00. But when we arrived around 18:30 the hotel was closed and after I called the hotel they told that the check in in the hotel is till 17:00 and we have to come to another restaurant to check in. The thing is that I called the hotel at the same day to ask if we need extra corona test, I mentioned the arriving time and they didn’t say anything. And when I called after arrival the girl on the phone was really rude that it’s kind of my fault and I should have read the information properly. Couple of days before arriving they wrote in Booking app if we would come and I answered yes, and asked about corona test. No one answered me. Looks like the communication between the hotel and booking customers fails.

The rooms weren’t particularly well soundproofed so you heard everything that was happening on the stairs and in other guests’ rooms. The rooms were a little cold and some of the radiators didn’t work but otherwise decent facilities. Unfortunately, communication with on site staff was very difficult - and it wasn’t only us that experienced this during our stay as we heard other guests commenting on this too. Whilst the on site housemaid (who doubled as receptionist, breakfast server etc - she was actually the only member of staff we ever met on site in all roles) was pleasant enough, she didn’t speak any English and we had to get by with sign gestures and Google translate. This made it troublesome to take basic discussions and caused some confusion.

Great location, flexible staff (we were able to check in early without any problem at all), nice breakfast with a good range of options.

There was a slight miscommunication about staff. They are split between this hotel and another one so check in was a bit delayed.

The location was right next to the bathhouse! unfortunately it was closed due to the pandemic. Besides the the hotel is near the main walking street and cute shops.

But we have choose the hotel bischoff amongst others based on the breakfast comments. And the Alte Laterne had a breakfast that was not exactly as described from the hotel bischoff. We even had to pay to have croissants... Moreover I have asked for a parking slot which I received at first. But then I was refund for the parking costs and had to move the car during my stay for apparently no reason. Curious way to do client management.

I booked the hotel bischoff and was moved from the hotel owner to another one of his hotels (Hotel Alte Laterne). It was not a problem at first, because the Alte Laterne hotel was very cute and nice.

Staff would easily win “worst service industry employee of the year” awards. Masters at making you feel miserable immediately with their body language, looks, don’t care attitude - russian service vibe all around. The only pleasant person on the whole property is cleaning lady

Made a trick with the payment and made us pay twice about vat even though we had paid via booking.com . Highly don’t recommend. We felt very very bad about the situation after the staff said that if we do not pay than they would cancel the reservation .
