Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomStayed in a single room (which was great value) with a roof window, which was a bit too warm given the high temps.
This is my 3rd visit and was as good as previously. Very traditional decor and excellent breakfast. Main point for us is the excellent food and beer. Would happily stay there again. Excellent value for a 4*.

NetherlandsThe restaurant is super popular and its hard to get a table, you cant book a table for one person through the website, so dont count on being able to have dinner there. Too bad because its easy to see why its so popular. Massages were fully booked as well. Not criticism, but a heads up for other travelers to book early. My room (317) was south facing and with the black roof it got VERY hot. I am not a person who has an airconditioned home so im used to having not ideal temperatures to sleep in. There was a rotating fan provided and luckily during the night it cooled off somewhat so sleeping with the window open helped a lot in this case. Enough to sleep decently for me. In the middle of summer this room would be uninhabitable.
Plenty of free parking, the room was spacious and very clean. The indoor Swimmingpool was pretty nice for a quick splash. Location is a 15 to 20 minute walk to the city center, plus you pass by the Roman Amphitheater and the Baths but theres also buss connections available. Breakfast had plenty of choices. I travel light so the elevator not reaching the third (top) floor didn't bother me.

GermanyThere was only filter coffee at breakfast- no machine- which I personally didn't mind, but our friends did miss the lattes. I have to add however that we could have ordered different coffees at an additional charge. The mattress was a bit too soft and an 80x80 cm sized pillow a little outdated nowadays. But really this is more a luxury issue. The bedroom window could not be opened very much so it got a bit stuffy at times. There were no additional bits such as pen and paper / shampoo etc The hotel is located a little too far out of town- so walking into the centre is manageable, but quite tiring if you're on your feet all day.
Breakfast was excellent- plenty of choice and the buffet was constantly being refilled. :-) Our room was comfortable but a little smaller than expected. We were overlooking the beer garden which was no issue at all. The cleaning staff were great. Very friendly and efficient. The eco-friendly idea of not having the room cleaned and receiving a beer voucher was a nice touch. The staff in the restaurant/beer garden were extremely friendly. We enjoyed it so much- we ate there twice. There is a great walk through the vineyards to the amphitheater just around the corner which is well worth doing.

United KingdomThe location was very useful for visiting Trier. In the past I had stayed elsewhere but on the last trip 4 years ago I found Blesius Garten by chance and decided to give it a go the next time I came to Trier... then Covid struck, but I kept to my plan. Sadly I was unable to eat in the restaurant during my stay as one evening it was full, and the next it was shut for a private function. When I return, which I will, I hope to remedy this.

United KingdomVery comfortable and well-equipped room overlooking the beer garden, which was quiet on the day we arrived. Good, secure parking. Excellent breakfast and a very good restaurant with a good range of regional dishes as well as the usual fare. Easy to get into Trier on the bus or by walking, with several Roman sites directly on the walking route. The hotel has excellent facilities and is well managed with friendly and attentive staff.
