Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

BelgiumI thought the room was a bit cold. The radiators were barely warm and it was pretty cold outside—you could feel cold air coming from the windows. There is no way to regulate room temperature yourself, of note.
The breakfast was wonderful. You do need to order the breakfast separately or ensure you have chosen a breakfast included option.

IrelandI would like to note that this is totally my fault, but I didn't realize that I booked a room with a shared bathroom. I only realized that when I checked in. The shared bathroom was small and it is usable only by one person at a time. There are other bathrooms in the other floors but I didn't needed to use them. Fortunately, there weren't that many users of the bathroom at my floor and I ended up queuing for the bathroom only once. If I were to complain about anything, it would be the bed, I'm not tall by any means, but I thought that the bed was a bit too small. I feel sorry for anyone taller than I am since I think their feet me stick out at the end.
There are a bunch of hotels beside Köln Central Train station. Hotel Brandenburger is tucked away at a quiet street near the train station. This means I get the convenience of being near the train station and still get the peace and quiet of a quiet neighborhood. I was initially concerned that train stations tend to be very dodgy but the area around Köln Central station was very orderly and at no time did I feel unsafe. Having not paid an exorbitant amount of money for a room at the hotel, I was expecting the room to be small, and it was. It was okay for me since I only needed a place to stay and a place to keep my stuff. Reception was gracious enough to allow me to leave my stuff while they prepared my room.

FranceI could not leave the luggage the last day of my trip, but the host told me, that it was an exceptional situation and normally it is possible to store your luggage after checking out. I do not remember if there is an elevator in the building (had to climb the stairs with my luggage).
The location is really good: not far from the train station and still in a quiet street. The staff was helpful and the reception desk was open 24 hours. The balcony was nice. I had to work a bit from the hotel and I had no problem with the internet connection.
