Guess due to the construction you could hear neighbours until late in the evening.

The use of the building as a hotel is inspired. Interesting things around every corner make the experience rich. The staff were super professional especially in these COVID times - strict adherence to the guidance gives great confidence. Dinner was great - limited menu but super tasty and again great service.

Majestically located medieval castle surrounded by quiet rural area. Just 15 min drive from lovely town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. The restaurant serves delicious food (divine sauces). The furniture seems authentic. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

It is an unforgettable experience - to sleep in the castle, have a very tasty dinner and walk around. For kids there also a castle playground. You can truly relax and enjoy while staying here.

Colmberg Castle was a wonderful place to stay. The room was very clean and had all necessary items. The views from the room was amazing. Our meal from the restaurant was delicious and delivered quickly and piping hot.

It was a super hot day and the room didn’t have A/C but the fan did a great job cooling us off :) so nothing to complain about :)

It is a true fairytale come true. It is exceptionally well put together, very clean, pretty and dog friendly! Wonderful experience! Would love to go back again.

People in the staff are a little serious (most of the time) I think they could be more polite. The beds were uncomfortable because of the design, though they are antique. The room had a different smell like dampness perhaps.. Didn’t like the decoration with the dolls, sorry. Other than that the food, location and castle was lovely. Thank you!

The lady at the reception needs to be more welcoming and friendly. She had a very stern way of dealing with Customers. Probably just her nature but we expected more warmth. No electric kettle, no tea / coffee facility in the room - that would have enhanced our experience.

Its a unique property; lives upto the ''Castle stay'' experience we were looking forward to. The room we booked was large enough and comfortable.

I’m not sure where to start, it felt as though you shouldn’t go unless you can speak German fluently. We were checked in ok, then when it cane to food, we were ignored for most for the evening. We didn’t get the second round of drinks we asked for, and one course took over two hours- an hour of that was trying to get the bill to pay at the end (they kept saying they would come back, but never did). We weren’t asked if we wanted coffees or desserts, whereas the table next to us had everything and had been attended to frequently, it was as though they were actively avoiding us (they kept turning away as we tried to grab their attention). We then went to our room that was overlooking the courtyard, and had the windows open as it was during the really warm spell. The restaurant was loud until gone 23:00, then they started packing away which was again really loud. We were then woken at 6:20 in the morning by people laughing and shouting (we had shut the windows by that point, so assume it was travelling through the floors (although I had thought the walls would be thick enough in a castle). Would not recommend and would not go again.

Staff members were unorganized and unfriendly. Front desk clerk had a bad attitude. Our waitress was just downright nasty and mean. Overall not a fun stay. I would not recommend this hotel to others which is unfortunate because it could be really awesome with a better staff.

The owners or whoever is running their booking account has to be sent back to a business school. You do not put people in the worst room you have just because they come with a dog in a pet friendly hotel when your hotel is empty. The room we got was simply offensive, ibis for 30euro a night has better looking rooms. That's while we were told, the room you choose is not dog friendly so here are two more expensive choices. Simply outrageous! To top it all off, after we upgraded and got significantly better room, it still had worn off and torn furniture

Completely disappointed and overated.Payd 280 euro for a room without a bottle of water.After a certain hours you cannot go out because they close the main gate.All the lights in the inner yard closed at night.The breakfast maybe the poorest ever,and the lady from the restaurant very upset that we came 10 minutes before closing time of the breakfast.

The idea to visit and sleep in an ancient castle.

Staff were unfriendly. Was put in a room on the third floor with beams running through the middle of the bed. Small, cramped room, not at all like the pictures. Breakfast was good food, but it felt like you were interrupting a family's meal.

One time experience staying in an actual old castle, redone with a restaurant and hotel. Beautiful surroundings and grounds, with a deer park outside your window.

Comfort is not great, there are no coffee machines, tea at the rooms, room has not been cleaned properly, breakfast is poorly managed - few things and have to wait to be served. Staff is not very friendly and responsive.

Castle is well kept, guests have access to many parts of the castle. Location is good, close to nature, treks and few historical cities.
