We stayed in the basic double room. It is small but fit our needs perfectly. Everything was clean and firm mattress was comfortable. We had a view of the courtyard. We arrived around sunset and in the morning took a walk in the garden before a delicious cold breakfast buffet. The staff were so kind and the overall experience was just lovely.

This place was amazing! We were a family of 7 and we were comfortable and just in awe of the beautiful grounds and castle. Breakfast was fresh food and very tasty. I definitely recommend it to everyone looking to stay here.

In hindsight, we should have booked a taxi from a larger train station. We got off the bus at the bus stop and started walking and lugging our luggage straight up the hillside road. However, the owners were awesome and came to pick up my elderly in-laws half way up the hill. They also transported our luggage!

The family who runs the property is so friendly and accommodating. The property is beautiful with an amazing view. The castle was beautiful. The beds were very comfortable. We loved this experience for our family!

Nothing I can think of, we all really enjoyed our stay, it was a great location for what we needed to accomplish while visiting Germany. If I had to pick something to not like it would be the pillows provided were to soft but that's just nit picking and a personal preference issue. We loved our stay and I hope to make a trip back with my family someday.

Staff was always very friendly and welcoming! The hotel accommodated our schedule and had breakfast ready for us early each morning before we had to leave for work requirements.

Not an overly exciting location sort of in the middle of nowhere, but if you have a car, it is not far from Rothenburg. The price is a tad high considering the location.

Everyone was very friendly and the castle atmosphere and decor were spectacular. The rooms were nice and the castle grounds were fun to explore. We had never stayed in a castle before and it exceeded our expectations.

I can't think of anything that could have been nicer.

Everything about our stay at Burg Colmberg was exceptional. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very comfortable and well furnished. The castle itself was very beautiful, with many, very nice antiques throughout. It was very nicely decorated for Christmas throughout as well. The restaurant offered outstanding meals and the breakfast each morning was very pleasant. The hotel is also pet friendly and our dog was welcome everywhere in the hotel.

Water pressure in Burgheress room is abismal when trying to get any hot water (ie to shower). It would have taken an hour to fill up the whirlpool tub if we wanted to use it - which we did want to but the pressure was terrible so we couldn’t.

Staying a castle was magical! Reception (ie Helga) was awesome. She even waited until 7pm for us to arrive since Munich airport was a mess. She allowed us time to “inspect” our room, offload our bags, etc. great resource this property has. Helga recommended the restaurant at the bottom of the hill which was great. We enjoyed the views, decorations, even the deer onsite was a great memory.

Proper castle stay. Loved the arrival, through the portcullis. Such character. Room was good but the rest of the castle was amazing. Wandered the grounds, watched the deer. Cheese and wine on a huge stone table watching the sunset.

This was the most amazing place to stay! Our room was so luxurious and beautiful. The view was amazing. The restaurant was delicious and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. We will definitely book this castle again on our next trip to Germany. It is in nice proximity to Rothenberg on der Tauber as well as Nurnberg. This was one of the highlights of our trip.

The only advise is to add a plass or metal sheet in washing room so that I can put my own shower and shampoo in it.

1. Good location. On the top of a mountain in Colmberg. Can see the sunset, sunrise and morning fog, especially the morning fog is very beautiful. 2. Long history and interesting exploring experience. Also have animals near the berg. 3. Good service. We need to leave to airport in the morning, give us earlier breakfast than their open time. 4. Good facilities. Have enough hot washing water. 5. Good food.

Unfortunately the dining room was closed. The beergarten across the street provided us dinner without having to drive.

Burg Colmberg is a beautiful mix of old world charm and modern convenience. The views around the castle are exquisite. The location is convenient and easy to find. Breakfast was great with delicious coffee. The service was excellent.
