    Everything waa brilliant

Beautiful location, lots of walks around the area, many gardens on the castle grounds, the library, the grand piano, the epic breakfast, the sauna. Really friendly staff. Best Indian takeaway in Germany is there in Kaub! Could not recomment this hotel enough!

Only one very minor comment. Buzzer at the entrance is somewhat hard to spot when first arriving.

Breakfast was excellent--cooked to order and served in majestic surroundings. The castle and grounds are beautiful. The view of the Rhine River Valley is absolutely outstanding.

It was a bit dusty. My only suggestion for improvement is the IKEA dishes in the appartment, it feels a bit out of tune.

We were walking the Rheinsteig and one of our stops was at Burg Rheinfeld. It surpassed all my expectations. It feels very private and luxurious to stay here. The burg is very stylish decorated, as fit for a castle (but not kitsch, wat you often see). Beautiful gardens, beautiful rooms. When we arrived someone waited for us to give us a tour of the castle. Sauna is included in the price. There is no dinner served, but a nearby restaurants delivers pizza and Indian food- (very easily ordering via whatsapp). Breakast served in the Knights Hall, who doesn't want? Would definitely return.

The only drawback was the driveway up to the castle - not much trouble for cars but the big van we were in meant for some tricky manoeuvring on our way up and down. But the drive was definitely worth the trouble!!

The castle grounds as well as the rooms are all beautiful, and great for exploring...lots of little hideaways to find, and spectacular views of the river and valley below. There's also easy access to trails from the castle grounds that take you along the tops of the hills in which the castle sits. The staff were fantastic too - the staff member that greeted us for check-in (Mira, if we're remembering her name correctly) even called a local restaurant on our behalf, to order food for dinner.

Simply amazing!!! We had the run of the Castle which had the most beautiful gardens and it was so lovely to be able to wander around and explore. Beautiful sun terrace and even better hidden areas with swinging seats. Breakfast was fabulous. We only scratched the surface with a one night stay - I could lose myself here for days! Beautiful location and facilities, we ordered a takeaway in the evening which was lovely. Definitely recommend the accommodation and the fantastic staff - Anna, Louis & Alex. Can’t wait to come back!!

The only thing negative that I can say is the bed, it was too short and creaked every time you turned. Suggestion: Providing a Information brochure in the rooms about the castle and the surrounding area with restaurants and points of interest would be helpful.

Friendly Personal, rooms have been renovated since my last visit, beautiful location with a fantastic view, breakfast was delicious with a nice variety, price is reasonable considering it's a castle, an elevator is available, bar room is very impressive, plenty of free parking.

Staff is lovely, the beds are exceptionally comfortable and the room was nice, but you don't want to stay in there too long because there is so much to explore! From the cosy bar/library to the impressive breakfast hall and the 'hidden' spaces around the courtyard, there are inspiring historical details everywhere. We spent a lot of time in the different areas of the garden, admiring the views and enjoying some local wine. It felt like we had this enormous castle all to ourselves, an absolutely amazing experience and a dream come true!

The only thing I could say is that we didn't realize that we would need to take a car ferry over the Rhein based on where we were coming from, so just be aware since they stop running at 8pm, I believe. It's also quite a long walk from where you park to the entrance of the castle, so pack lighter than we did 😁

The setting and grounds are absolutely gorgeous, the staff was extremely kind and helpful, our room was so large and comfortable (though no a/c), the breakfast was grand and delicious and served in a beautiful room. We wish we could have stayed longer to relax and enjoy all the views and spots it has to offer. The cute little town doesn't have too much, but we had 2 delicious meals there.

This is a hidden gem! The property manager and his family were absolutely delightful and the property (or should I say ACTUAL castle) had me feeling like royalty. Magical views, gardens, and the interior was just as nice. We were lucky enough to drink the castle vineyards wine, get dinner delivered and enjoy it on a swinging chair overlooking sunset and river. Great breakfast included too. I really hope we get to come back one day.

    Nothing at all!

Burg Gutenfels completely exceeded our expectations. It was not touristy, but rather classy, genuine, and beautifully restored. The gardens and castle are incredible. The breakfast was amazing, with made-to-order eggs. The staff at Burg Gutenfels were knowledgeable about the castle, very friendly, and helpful. We simply can’t say enough about this place and hope to be back!
