How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room was pretty old, the beds felt kind of lumpy like they had been used past their shelf life.
Nice hotel. Reception was very welcoming, providing a map of the area and provided us with a discounted parking pass for a near by (5 Minute walk) garage. Bathroom was newly renovated and large.

The breakfast was quite disappointing. Just eggs, ham, vegetables and cereals. Moreover, you have to pay extra euros for coffee! Such breakfast is not worth its money.
The location of the hotel in very convenient, right in the center of the old town. The room was clean and comfortable, the hotel staff is friendly.

The reception desk is available only in the morning. In case of late arrival, this makes the procedure complicated especially for non-german speakers as all the messages are in German, despite nationality.
Very central position. Well-equipped hotel with swimming pool gym and sauna. Quality food at breakfast. Comfortable single room. Daily cleaning services are suspended if not requested

The bed was a bit hard but still slept great. It was hot and a fan in the room would have been nice. The sauna did not work.
The manager was really nice, helpful and friendly. A great deal for such a location! Overall much better than expected.

The only thing I did not like is that the hotel was closed (including the nice terrace with tables and chairs) and without staff in the evenings, but I guess they were understaff because of the economic situation. In any case it did not affect the quality of our stay. I wish you a good luck, dear Burghotel team.
The hotel is very cozy with a great location. Just in the heart of the beautiful Nuremberg. The staff is amazing, they are very helpful and friendly. A lady (I don't remember the name, unfortunately) gave us the best tips about where to go and what to eat with a very beautiful smile and patience. The room facilities are basic, but pretty comfortable. This is a hotel I would be back to!

Perfect location for exploring the Christmas markets. Public parking was very busy due to weekend Christmas markets. The staff on reception were so helpful when we called to say we were struggling to find the parking. Great location to explore the city the next morning.

The beds are not very comfortable, but for a short stay, manageable. It's difficult to find comfortable beds anymore at any hotel, so I wasn't surprised.
The location for the Christmas Market is ideal...under a 5-7 minute walk. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Nice rooms, good value and worth the trip.

No one was in reception to meet us. The restaurants nearby were all fully booked as the time of year and we could have had help in finding one. No water in room

Really wonderful staff. They went out of their way to help us. We had a young baby with us and the staff were great with him and got us whatever we needed. Nothing was too much trouble. Great location
