Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe room could have been slightly better and could have had a working table to get some work done. Other than that no complaints.
The location is spectacular as it is only 1 stop from the central station. And a really good place to stay if you book the place last moment. The Indian restaurant was a little bit costly after all.

United StatesI chose this accommodation because we needed a shuttle to the airport which it said was available for a fee. At the time I booked, I emailed them to say I needed the shuttle and the response was “we will coordinate that when you arrive”. When we arrived the front desk staff knew nothing about it and gave us the phone number to call the owner. There was no answer at that number. We ended up having to call a taxi ourselves.
Clean, comfy beds.

IranThe location is not good, it is a very crowded neighborhood. I think maybe it can not be suitable for solo girls and ladies. The reception does not speak one word of English. My room was in the ground floor with damaged curtain, so I did not felt good and safe. It could be an option for a last minute booking in Hamburg, if its price would be more convenient. The price was too high, not acceptable for this place.
The room and beds were clean, and bathroom was comfortable.

GermanyThe area is near the main station, and has the usual disadvantages of these areas. We could park on the street but were already approached by beggars when doing so. Car park spaces in the underground parking are very few, and when we arrived were full. €20 to park is also expensive. Street parking is free from 22.00 to 09.00. The room was very compact, and did not have the kettle it kitchenette indicated in booking.com. So we spent extra to eat in the nearby restaurant when we would have been happy self-catering. The climate in the room was a bit suffocating. Warm and humid. A stand up fan was provided.
We arrived after 8pm. The man on reception was very friendly and extremely helpful. He was also available later in the night. We didn't make use of it in the end but there are some underground parking spaces - the receptionist took me on foot to show me the car park. Great service. The Indian/Thai restaurant next door is a good option. A Lidl is just across the road for drinks or food.

DenmarkI had a so-called “deluxe” double room - which is a nice enough bed and an en suite shower, that’s it. WiFi was super unstable and be aware that the very nice staff members only speak German!
Location is great if you need a single night or two, and particularly if you are arriving into and leaving Hamburg by train. For longer stays, I would look elsewhere.

United KingdomIt was really noisy, I could everything that was happening in the other rooms. I was unlucky that some guests were getting up at 6am every morning and were very loud, but that is not the hotel's fault
Very clean, really nice staff, he helped me with all my doubts. Comfy bed. Good location, metro station is right outside the door.

GhanaFound an eaten date seed on my table on the first day. Heater for room was not hot enough, no heater in the bathroom. Room not very sound proof, could hear my loud neighbour.
Great location, right by U1 station. Gave me bigger room, had plenty of towels. Staff is friendly. They hold your bag for you when you’ve checked out.

SwedenThe apartment was insufficiently equiped. Curtains were missing or insufficient to cover the windows. Insufficient lighting- a single dim light bulb per room, no bedside lamps. Only four low arm chairs and two writing desks turned eating into an adventure. Wifi did not work at all. Linen, though crisp and clean, smelled cigarette smoke. All doors have windows meaning that light comes in. Quick fixes that will improve future assessments: get more lamps and fix curtains, cover the windows in the room doors, add simple chairs and a table (even foldable ones). And stop people from smoking once the beds are made and before guests arrive! Good luck - otherwise it is a price worthy apartment.
Very good location, close to subway and train station. Discount super market nearby. Very friendly, service-minded staff. Practical kitchen to fix small meals and breakfast. Good, modern TV. Bathroom, kitchen and floor were clean. Comfortable beds. Spacious apartment.

DenmarkBeds were quite hard. The curtains were s bit broken and didn’t cover the whole window. I ordered a seemingly larger triple room because it included a double bed, but we got a smaller twin room.
Close to the train station/Flix bus, and good location in general. Close to great middleeastern food options. Nice staff, easy check-in.

ItalyThe price I have paid (100Eur/night) did not match the state of the room (twin/deluxe for single person use) at all. The bed had leather-like supports to lean on when sitting in the bed - they were shaved off by previous guests and fixed with sticky tape. The curtains were not attached properly and loose. There was a wall mount for a TV that was empty, holes peeking out and in front of that was a standalone TV screen. The main floor in the room had parts chipped off. The basin in the bathroom was so small, one could not use it without spilling water all over on the floor. Fun fact: the painting over the bed was mounted 90 degrees rotated, so the flowers in a vase were pointing to the left instead up. By the way, the neighborhood is a bit sketchy during night.
Staff was very friendly, the hotel is close to the train station and there is a subway station exactly next to the entrance.
