Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesBedding linens in Germany (DE) vs from the USA: German linens and pillows are very different than in the US. DE Pillows are square, US are rectangular, and the DE pillow cases are odd and just overlap in the center instead of US which is a long case with an opening on the short end. DE cases fall open and fall off easily and therefore are not comfortable. The DE pillows are also laundered so much they are lumpy. Here they provide individual bed comforters for each person, which is a nice feature if you are sharing a bed with a person you don't usually share a blanket with. For a married couple who likes to share a king sized blanket, it's very awkward. Also, there's nothing other than the comforter to cover up with if it's hot - no light sheet or blanket like in the US. Since we did not speak German it was difficult to ask the cleaning staff for alternative bedding, if such a thing is available. We finally took the duvet cover off the comforter, and used the duvet cover as if it was a light blanket. We were offered a small blanket - not full length, in case we were chilly, so that was helpful. If you like sleeping with a bed sheet - or need a certain pillow - I suggest that you bring it with you. We did bring a blanket for the plane and ended up using it as a layer on our bed. If this had been a month later, we would have been using the comforters and been happy. We had so much fun in Munster that we mostly fell over exhausted and were grateful for the comfortable bed!
This was our home base for 18 days, and the bus/train station was an easy 6 minute walk. We loved having our own kitchen and refrigerator, and we regularly made our own breakfast after shopping at the Munster Domplatz farm market (Wednesday/Saturday) for fresh foods- vegetables and fruits, ham, cheese and bread. We were surrounded by small bakeries/cafes, numerous Kabob or other dining spots within walking distance in every direction, and a kiosk next door. We had a small dining table and tall stool chairs in our room. We requested a second lounge chair so we each had comfortable chair seating. The host provided complimentary ground coffee for the press, and there were also wine, water, and beer in the fridge when we arrived. We rented bikes to get around the city and LOVED the street level gated area they provided for parking our locked bikes. We learned that looking out the window did not tell us the weather - the courtyard was so sheltered that it did not allow us to see the sunshine so we had to actually go out to the street to know the weather. It was extremely peaceful and quiet due to the buffer of the courtyard and front building - so street and traffic noise did not ever disturb us - usually we could not hear it at all. The hotel crew were very helpful and polite and did interim cleaning for us periodically throughout our stay. There's a generously sized lounge area and indoor picnic tables and a ping pong table in the lobby which could be fun for a family who would like more space to spread out, or multiple guests who are booking multiple rooms together could use that as the common area to visit together. Our room had a nice sized closet with extra shelving, hooks on the back of the bathroom door, a full length mirror, nice heaters in the bathroom and bedroom, comfortable bathroom, two balcony window/doors. The balcony is a glass panel to prevent falls, and a narrow ledge, not a walk out balcony.

United KingdomAlthough located on a main street that isn't aesthetically pleasing, it felt safe and there is clearly a good local community in this area.
Easy location to get to from the main train station to the apartment, and nicely located between the old town and the harbour area, so a good variety of places to go to eat located nearby. Also a convenient supermarket and bakery with coffee shop. The communal area was also a great bonus,

ColombiaThe studio was impecable. The design is modern, cozy, and spacious. It has every little thing that one may need for a long or short stay: from cooking utilities to washing/drying machine, I didn’t miss anything. The room faces an internal patio, which makes the place very quiet to sleep in. The location is also perfect as is just one block away from the central station, so you can reach virtually anything within the city by one bus.

EstoniaThe room was nicely decorated and bed comfy. The tiny kitchen has pretty much everything you need for a short stay, also tea and coffee making facilities. The location is good, with a short walking distance to old town, shops, restaurants etc. Baby bed and high chair (cleanest we saw in Germany 😀) were also available.

United StatesThis used to be a B&B but the cafe has closed down. There are some amenities that are not available (an iron, microwave, etc). The house manual was only in English in certain sections which was confusing. I never knew if I was reading Dutch, German, or English and I missed a lot of instructions because of that. The last bit that was a little confusing is that there is another building with the same address next door (a dentist's office) We stood outside if it for a while before realizing that wasn't the entrance.
I loved how close this was to the train stop. It was a ten minute walk to most of the spots in Munster. It was fairly private.

NetherlandsThe boxspring itself was a bit saggy.
Train station, parking garage, shops, pubs, restaurants, musea all within walking distance. Host provides a list of recommended places (shops, restaurants etc) in the room. Perfect for a short 3-4 day stay in Munster.

NetherlandsIt could have be a bit cleaner and it was a bit noisy inside the building (older app that has been renovated).
The host, they decorated it a bit for a birthday and had some tips for eating. Nice modern look, you have some appliances and Netflix was a plus.
