The rooms were large , beds comfortable with a really good breakfast. The bathroom was large . The property is really beautiful historic nunnery with various information about the nuns displayed. The staff spoke German English and French.

I couldn't quite figure out how the lights worked. I wanted to charge my phone overnight but there were lights in the wall that I simply couldn't turn off without shutting down the whole power. So maybe there was a switch I couldn't find or it's not thought out well. But it was more of a nightlight, so not that bad.

The building and area are very interesting and a good place to relax after a long day of exploring the city or conventions. What I love about the location is that when everyone is going to the train to get home after a convention, most go to the station but while staying here you go in the opposite direction, with almost empty trains and no stress whatsoever.

We found the bed in our Historic Room a little basic, quite squeaky with a thin mattress and thin pillows. There is no bar or restaurant in the hotel, so catering apart from breakfast is very limited.

The location was excellent for us, the hotel was quiet and the room was very spacious with plenty of storage space. The shower was good. The breakfast was good, and staff were all helpful and friendly.

No escalator or helpful staff to lift the suitcase. The Indian night shift staff was kind and accomodating but the European staff in the morning were cold and unaccommodating and refused to even help us get the bags down and expected us to wait for half an hour for someone to arrive.

No lift so you carry your luggage and mine broke on the steps because of this. The breakfast is ordinary bread, eggs and nothing more. Hot water, clean room so it does hit the basic requirements.

The showers are extremely small, and this is stated whilst not being an extremely big person. The shower curtains are not the best arrangement. The weird black and white portraits of children in our room was not the most decorative addition.

The historic building inside the church complex was mesmerising but the hotel could have been modernised more to ensure a comfortable stay for guests.

Nothing bad to report, it was all good. No complaints. I loved the breakfast, I loved the room, I loved the whole place especially the carpeted corridors (one night I nipped downstairs bare-footed to buy some mineral water so the carpets made it that little bit better. Nothing was wrong with the hotel. I'm sure if they'd had a restaurant it would have been good too.

In short, a wonderful hotel, well-located in a very pleasant part of the city, easy to get into the centre of town too. Locally, in the Klemensplatz/Kaiserswerth area some excellent restaurants (Casa Massimo). The hotel itself was just fantastic: clean, great staff (especially Piros on the front desk), the room was amazing, nothing whatsoever to complain about and I would 100% return and advise other people to check in too. The Mutterhaus made the trip and I will be returning just as soon as I can think of a reason.

    Nothing

Beautiful old historic building in a relaxing and quiet location. Hotel seems to be used for business and conferences but does not affect the tranquillity, very well organised. We had a History room which was massive with a lovely en-suite shower room with great pressure from the shower providing softened water, comfy beds and very clean. We were allowed to check in early and after our stay were not charged for parking by the lovely and friendly staff. lovely breakfast served in the mornings with a wide variety of choice. Great location to the nearest metro station (Klemensplatz) circa 10 min walk, that takes a 12 min journey to the centre of Dusseldorf ( tickets available on the train or from the kiosk at the station.

The entire experience got knocked down by so many points because there was no airco. 33 degree heat with no way to cool down feels terrible. We felt sweaty and sticky our entire stay

The building is beautiful and the breakfast hall is stunning. The bathroom is also very nice.
