How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The place is extraordinarily spacious and clean. It is an apartment-hotel so most of the time there isn’t a receptionist. Just call the number and there will be someone to deliver the key to you. I have compared almost all the hotels around the same price range, and DASkoln stands out with no doubt. I have recommended it to all my friends who are planning to travel to Cologne.

Centrally location walking distance from central station. Very friendly owner that took the time for the check-in and showing the facilities in the apartment.

It was our third time in Cologne, and that hotel was the best choice! Great location, very clean, and hospitable. The guy from staff (sorry, I forgot his name) has an excellent sense of humor. When we arrived our apartment was occupied, so he gave us their best, larger apartment. Highly recommended.

At the time of booking there was no permanent reception and you have to call in advance to have someone to come to you. Good to know, this did not affect the rating.
Great location in the heart of Köln, host was nice and friendly and gave us some good recommendations. Clean and well equipped apartment. Internet was blazing fast.

Dificult to find responsable apt's staff. No reseption. But room keeper is helpfull.
Location is very good. Close to pedestarian road, shooping Malls, food markets such as Lidl and Aldı. Easy to go museums. Very close to Christmas Markets.

There is no one at the reception when nobody is checking in so when you need something ots not easy to reach someone
The room was big and comfortable. There os a noce kitchen when ch is very important when traveling with kods.

This hotel deserves all the high rating it gets! I stayed in junior suit room for three nights with my family. It was spacious and cosy , felt like home. There were lots of space for luggage and other stuff, kitchen had everything we needed , the room was heated very well, it was really cold outside during our stay. The bathroom , towels and sheets were perfectly clean . The location is perfect and the street is quiet so we slept without any disturbance. And the most important part , the hotelkeeper Mr. Mazdak is a truely kind and helpful person whom I am happy to meet .

A perfect stay overall, but if I have to be picky and find a little "minus", that would boil down to the blocking out of light from the windows: personally, I'd prefer a darker room when I sleep, but this is definitely a minor issue.
The room was very spacious, clean and very well equipped with everything needed for comfort and safety. The staff at reception was also extremely helpful and friendly. I especially valued the chance of checking out late (for free!), so I could keep the room until my train was scheduled.

I would have liked some instructions on what to do with rubbish.

Just a little noise during the day. If we can rest it’s a bit complicated.
Very clean aparthotel, the location, it is magnificent full of restaurants around the person who welcomed us. She is very helpful. Access to the apartment is very easy. I loved spending my weekend in this place. 👌👌

I loved everything!
The location was great. On a very quiet street but close to lots of shops and restaurants. The apartment was so big and spacious, everything you might need was provided. It was clean and quiet with a very comfortable bed. The air conditioning was excellent- as was the WiFi.
