Most impactful point for me is always the shower. This one leaked into the bathroom and the entire room was under water quickly. Also hot water was limited and just depleted at some point. The location is curently heavily impaired by the roadwork, there is only one Taxi enterprise in the town and drivers from apps like freenow will simply decline coming over from Wiesbaden to fetch you, so you better bring your own wheels.

The owner was friendly and helpful. He helped me to book a taxi to my conference venue. He even offered to drive just in case the taxi does not arrive. Breakfast was good! You have coffee, bread, cold cuts, jam, cheese, eggs and milk.

We really like this hotel, it is clean, comfortable and cosy. All personnel is very friendly and helpfull. The location might not be best but for us, as a middle stop of our journey, it is perfect, it is very near the highway but you don't hear the highway instead the location is very peaceful. They have a very good grill restaurant with great food and their own labelled drinks.

There is no elevator/lift for the rooms so that is about the only downside to this hotel for those who need one.

The communication from the owners were great. There was construction around the area and the owners sent us a message about it and how to best get to the hotel. The room is accessed via stairs only and so that made it a bit of a challenge for my wife who has knee issues but she was able to overcome the challenge. The rooms are very uniquely decorated and charming with a very comfortable bed. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant attached, also owned by the same couple as the hotel, that serves an awesome burger and a traditional German breakfast. We would gladly stay here again.

Super friendly, family run small hotel with newly renovated rooms. The restaurant serves speciality gourmet burgers which were great with a wide range of excellent beers. Just a few minutes off the autobahn, the hotel was a very convenient stop over but we could have stayed longer and we will return if we are in the area again. Recommended!

Outside area could use some more update. Grillrestaurant we imagened steaks, but there were merely burgers (taste was good).

Breakfast was good, especially regarding the price. Room was neat, nicely decorated. Inside hotel has a nice feel to it. Extra space with bunkbed and own tv, great for our Son.

It was very hot when we first arrived, would have been good if the curtains had been closed and the window opened a bit. However it soon cooled down a bit once I'd done this myself. Also if you're a light sleeper then be warned there are a few train lines nearby and you can just about hear the distant hum of the autobahn although as we were just staying the one night en route to France it wasn't an issue.

Pleasant owners who showed us to our quirky but extremely well presented suite. Nice clean rooms with a decent bathroom and a lovely balcony complete with a swing seat. Also it was the first time on my trip abroad that I had a smart tv in my room so I was able to watch YouTube in English for a change rather than local TV.

The construction requires you to take a roundabout way of getting there.

A big construction was going on next to the hotel. Though most people seem not to be agitated, it was not pleasant at all.

Engel Hotel is in a perfect location if you are travelling from the U.K to Austria as it's about mid way and close to the motorway, we stayed here on both our outgoing and return journeys hence two reviews that are the same! We are a 3 children family and finding accommodation to suit is often difficult but again the Engel Hotel family suite was perfect for us, it has two double bedrooms, a bunk-bed room and en-suite. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms and en-suite were immaculately clean with bedding, towels, soaps etc provided. Booking in and out was very flexible so ideal if you get stuck in traffic and arrive late. On the ground floor there is a grill restaurant and bar which is understandably popular, the burgers are very tasty with vegetarian options, a burger and beer were very well received after our long journey. It's advisable to book a table if you are planning to eat. The breakfast was a help yourself Continent style with plenty of options and was kindly prepared to suit our travelling times. The staff were very helpful and flexible to our needs.

There are on going bridge works right outside the hotel, as we understand these have been ongoing for about four years now and has completely cut the town into two! To be honest looking at the construction works isn't the prettiest of views but it didn't bother us in the slightest as once you have shut the curtains you wouldn't even know it was there. We travelled at the weekend and there was no noise or work being carried out during our stay. The bridge works would definitely NOT put me off booking again.
