How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hallway and other residents in the rooms were very noisy, so sleeping was difficult.

Room 502 is right next to what appears to be the plant room for the lift which makes noise each time the lift is used. Thankfully the lift didn't get used much during the night. Also the lift only goes to the fourth floor so I had to lug our suitcase up the final set of stairs.
Room was big, location great for seeing central Cologne. Staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.

There wasn’t anything we did don’t like
The location was amazing. The room was fantastic- very spacious and with a great view of the cathedral. and the beds were so comfortable - overall a very enjoyable stay.

The pillows were very uncomfortable. The lighting in the room was not the best, there was one very bright light on the floor that we needed to use but it was way too bright and really hurt our eyes. Therefore, we had to use the tiny lights above our bed the whole stay.

The building was very echoey so all the noises from reception as people were checking in late would filter to the room.
The room was nicely styled and the location was a short walk from transport and attractions.

Lack of kettle (tea/coffee) and free bottle of water. Breakfast was simple but OK. Great coffee, rolls. However not checked to be re-filled. So better you come early :-)
Location is great. Service and staff very helfpul and polite. Room small but comfortable. I was missing a kettle in the room to have something warm during cold autum/winter days. It is also difficult to find the hotel parking, so I took one in the city centre parkhause. Thank you for the service.

Tight parking space and cannot access carpark entrance with room key. You have to go in to reception each time to get the key and then return it after entering car park

Staff not always as friendly as could be. Spa / wellness was promoted, but only available in another hotel which was 15 min walking distance away. Am in all prices for room and garage too high for what it is.
Very good location close to the city center. Good breakfast for s reasonable price. Rooms big enough and clean.

Our room has enough room for 5 to sleep, but only 3 to sit comfortably (plus 1 desk chair). The hotel boasted onsite parking for a fee but there was only room available for one small vehicle (ours is not small...5 people). The Wi-Fi connected but did not provide Internet.
Great location and price. Staff was nice. Room for 5 was roomy.

The only thing that I wanted to pull up is that Booking.com didn't indicate that I had breakfast included in my room rate. When I got there I was offered a paid breakfast but was unable to take it due to my early flight. I booked a rate I thought I had no breakfast but couldn't take the offer. I couldn't take the breakfast off as it was said it was included in the room rate.
The room was clean and comfortable and quite cozy as it wasn't overly spacious. The addition of a stocked mini fridge was a nice touch. The hotel was about a 10-15 minute walk away from the main train station, other transport links and town centre. Close to a lot of amenities. The area was quiet at night so not much disturbance for a good night's sleep.

A bit more sound profing the doors
The rooms are great just the doors let In to much sound from the corridors and the elevator door needs piling I was in room 110 right buy the elevator
