Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelDepending on your room allocation, wifi signal can be a bit weak at times
My second time staying at the hotel. One of Trier's better establishments, considering value good money. Guest traffic is vibrant, meaning this hotel has something of value to offer.

GermanyWhile there was really nothing specific to complain about, the whole facility just seemed rather tired and worn out. And though the location was convenient, the neighborhood was not very pleasant.
The location is good, just across the river from the city center. There is both on-street and hotel parking, all free. The hotel also has a secure garage for bicycles and motorcycles. Breakfast was OK, but nothing special.

IsraelThe wifi's speed and range left some room to be desired, as in my room (37) it wasn't always available. The wifi is good when it catches, and is able to provide the broadband for any online activity. Range and stability have sometime been a bit on-and-off
Some of the positives were the satisfactory breakfast buffet, the pleasant and efficient staff and the size of the room, compared to the price. The location is also fine, as it is about 30 minutes from the central station and the center of Trier. The pricing was competitive and not another hotel in the area had comparable pricing. Great for a medium-short stay.

BelgiumWe were on a cycling holiday and the hotel provided a garage where we could safely store our bikes. Cycling into town across the bridge was easy. We were able to video stream using the hotel wifi. The rooms were functional and clean, nothing fancy but they did the job.

CanadaThe fact that it was a bit noisy due to construction behind the hotel, but that was beyond their control and not happening at night.
Friendly staff and nice breakfast. Good room with space to leave things. OK bed. Good bathroom and bright lighting.

GermanyIt was cold at night, but thankfully I had a good blanket with me.
Everything was okay and I was satisfied staying there. The room, bed sheet, everything was really clean. I did not have much contact with the staff. The check in and out went easy and with no issues. Everything I needed was already in the room. The location is not close to the city center but was easy to access, quiet, and relaxing. A renovated old building, only the doors are not sound and heat proof, the rest is okay. I could come late at night and thanks to the blinds sleep until later in the morning. This and the clean private room, I liked a lot.

NetherlandsI would have liked some shelf or side table in the bathroom to store the toiletry bags. The smell of smoke everywhere is a bit pungent. The road in front of the hotel, and most of the walking route to the center, is very busy and loud (although fairly safe for pedestrians if you use the traffic lights).
Nice hotel overlooking the river, although the rooms don't offer river view. There is a small balcony facing a courtyard. Good beds and plenty of space, also in the bathroom. We were very happy to be able to check in early! The walk from the train station took about 30 minutes, 20 to Trier city center. The beautiful view of the Moselle when crossing the bridge is a bonus :)

United StatesThis is an older hotel, maintained well enough, but not luxurious at all. The price was right for us - you get what you pay for. The queen bed was actually 2 beds pushed together - typical older-style German bed arrangements.
The simple room was very large, allowing lots of space for all of our travel gear. The hosts were accommodating, secretly loaning a fan for our use during the hottest week of the summer. The breakfast was reasonably priced and adequate, though not luxurious. We did not eat dinner here, but the menu was Serbian. The hotel is located on a busy street, but our windows faced a courtyard. No view, but not loud either, even as the windows were open all night. The bus to historic area is nearby, and walking is also possible. This hotel is nothing fancy, but a good option to the more expensive tourist zone. There was a designated garage for storing bikes overnight. We had arranged for our luggage to be delivered to the hotel in advance of our arrival, and they were stored securely until we arrived.

FinlandNot the hotel's fault, but on the other side of the road there was a construction site, where loud work started at 8 am, so we didn't have the pleasure of sleeping late. The hotel is a little far from the city center, at least if you walk the way everyday as we did.
Everything went well for our stay. We liked the big tablespace in the room and a roomey bathroom. The hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood and, at least on the Im Sabel -side, there was little traffic noise.

BrazilThey called my Brazilian number that was on booking, which was my mom's and told me to go back to the Hotel. She could barely understand it cause she can't speak english and they spoke mostly German. That caused me to look for a payphone like crazy to try to reach them, since I was out of the Hotel and it's far from most things in the city. Luckily, I had a friend in Europe that could call them, and they told her it was a mistake. A mistake that caused me a lot of stress and made me loose some of the little time I had in the city.

United StatesThe location of the room wasn't the best. There is a street exit right beside it and a few parking spaces, but those are the breaks when you book a single-occupant room single bed, for the very fair price I paid for it.
One of the softest and most comfortable beds I've ever had in a hotel. Breakfast was worth the add-on, and the room, though small was cozy, clean, and had plenty of storage for its size. It's Germany so A/C isn't a thing, but that's normal here. The hotel restaurant is genuinely nice and the food quite good. The staff is amicable and helpful.
