Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyI almost cancelled this reservation when I arrived at the location! After navigating to the street address, you have to go into a dark entranceway that is shared with a sleazy casino. Next to the imposing casino entrance, there is a nondescript door on the side for the hotel. Ring the buzzer. Once buzzed in, I was imagining a reception desk. Wrong! I was now in the stairwell of some random apartment building. Start climbing the stairs and after two flights you will get to another closed door - this one is for the hotel. Another buzz in to get through the door and you have arrived at your destination. Nothing tragic, just not what I would have expected from a hotel. Also, don't drink the coffee at breakfast unless you are German. Big mistake.
Not quite a hotel - more like a quirky bed and breakfast - so with that comes a certain charm (and some awkwardness, described below). The rooms were the "hotel" part of the equation - modern, clean, comfortable bed. Bathroom was modern, towels were in good condition, shower had plenty of hot water and strong water pressure. The "bed and breakfast" vibes came from everything else. Breakfast was cozy with authentic German fare - ham and cheese plate, hard-boiled egg and a basket of bread on every table - and dishes that look like your grandma's floral china set. There is only one window, so try to get the table next to it. Definitely feels like you are at someone's home - and from what I read in other comments, the lady of the house is Mrs. Keiml herself (doesn't speak English but full of personality that transcends language). I think she lives on the premises because she's always there. She's a character right out of a storybook - I wish I spoke German.

GermanyI think the overall experience was great but just a few things to mention: I think the breakfast needs a bit more organization. The breakfast lady was doing everything by herself and bringing all the breakfast items to tables. Maybe putting some more items in the buffet would be a better idea. The pillows were very annoying for me and i had to use two pillow layers to sleep. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, so i think it would not be easy for people with big luggage to handle. If you have visual standards i think you will be critical about the entrance and the old reception.
The location is perfect. The hotel is very close to the main station and the city center as well. The room was clean, big and quiet and the breakfast was very good. The exceptional thing about this place is the hospitality and the authenticity that you will never experience in big hotels and i think there is the big plus here. Once you are there you feel like home (it is a family managed hotel). The breakfast lady was very friendly and came multipule times to check if I needed anything. They let me leave my luggage there after i checked out so i could go for a walk before taking my train.

TurkeyThe hotel is actually located on the 2nd and 3rd floor of a relatively old building. Therefore, especially if you arrive in the evening, the entrance of the building and the stairs may seem a bit disappointing. But don't worry once you climb the stairs and get into hotel everything will be quiet satisfying.
The location of the hotel was perfect, 10 minutes walking distance from the main station and in the heart of the old town. Breakfast was really rich and satisfying and was prepared carefully. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and super clean.

GermanyVery nice and cosy small hotel with convenient location. Exceptional hospitality - Frau Keiml and her staff are very friendly and attentive. The room was spacious and very clean, everything you need is there. We had a tasty big breakfast. It was also an aesthetic delight - romantic dining room with the classic crockery set, paintings on the walls. As we were checking out, Frau Keiml gave kids some sweets (chocolates,Haribo, cookies).I sincerely recommend this hotel
