Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Beautiful hotel in the most gorgeous town you can imagine. Perfect location right in the heart of the old town. Check in was easy. You park out the front in the street for 4 euro. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is lovely. Stay here!

New ZealandNot a complaint but need to be conscious that rooms are up narrow stairs so lugging suitcases not the easiest.
Sensational location in the heart of an old town that looks like it has come out of a fairytale. Breakfast was also lovely and host very friendly.

SpainThis is a beautiful heritage building so the rooms and corridors are not very spacious. Not a problem for us and smaller accommodation make for a cosy stay.
Clean, cosy room in a cute heritage building. Comfy beds and great service. Small details like the complimentary drink or the fruits left in reception (I took the kiwi for our baby but I ate it myself!) go a long way to make you feel like home. The weather was surprisingly good for the time of the year, so we barely used the heating, but I can confirm it works great. The bathroom looked like newly renovated or extremely clean! The spacious desk allowed me to carry out some pending work on my laptop comfortably.

NetherlandsDownside of being in the old town is the limited parking in front of the hotel. However, larger parking areas are only 5 min away. Breakfast area is relatively small. Can be an issue when several guests come at the same time.
Good location in the old town. Walking distance from several restaurants (good tip from the hotel to book ahead). The hotel has quite some charm.

United StatesNo elevator. No covered parking. Minor stuff. Since location and price great.
Great location by restaurants and items of interest. Charming staff and excellent breakfast for minimal cost. Everything remodeled and new looking. Bathroom was fantastic. Nothing to complain about except there was no elevator and covered parking. But safe area and minimal cost $4. Although parking machine broken so parked free. Would stay here again and will recommend to friends. Had two rooms.

HungaryThis place is absolutely great. Clean room, clean sheets, good breakfast, good location. It is located in the middle of the old town. I recommend walking in the old town in early morning hours when there are not so many people and you can take a look to all the details on the houses.

United StatesThere was a kid clopping about above us at 6:00, but I guess that‘s the way the cookie crumbles at a hotel, and no fault of anyone‘s but the parents.
Cute hotel right in the center of town. Simple, efficient contactless check-in with everything explained ahead of time. There was even a cute video of exactly how to access the garage to store our bikes. The kettle and mini-fridge in the room were a nice touch. Coffee, tea, bottled water and Sekt upon arrival made us feel very welcome. The beds were good and had nice cotton sheets, the towels smelled great, and the water was hot. The best part was the extensive breakfast with lots of homemade offerings. There was also a TON of fresh fruit, veggies, and other healthy options that don‘t seem to typical at German breakfast buffets. It was so nice to get a nutritious start to our cycling day.

RomaniaNo 24 hour staffed reception but this was not a problem.
Very good location in the center of the city, quiet area. Lovely place, incredible modern accommodation in an old traditional building. Very kind staff – the owners and the staff from breakfast and housekeeping. They helped us with the suitcases up and down the second floor. Efficient self check in procedure. A small bottle of champagne in the fridge as a welcome. Big room, big bathroom with a huge walk in shower. Nice view from the room. Fridge in the room. Cleanliness. Good breakfast, although still can be improved. Many public parking spots in front of the hotel (cost 4 Euros per day from 10 AM to 8 PM or fractioned). Good value for money.

New ZealandThe walk from the railway station is fairly steep and over cobbled stones - fine if you are fit. The reception was run by remote control - a code to get in, then you needed to text/phone/email the owners if you had a problem, eg we needed more coffee in our room. They replied promptly, but were out of town, however they came back in a short while with a handful of coffee sachets for us.
The building was gorgeous, and our room was clean, fresh and spacious. We had a lovely view over the little square below. Very easy walk through a narrow alleyway to the local bakery and some restaurants. Great location for exploring the old town.

United KingdomI would have preferred 2 pillows to make both sleeping and watching TV more comfortable, but didn't request a second one. Breakfast was rather limited for vegetarians; there was plenty of variety for meat/cheese eaters. Bowls, glasses etc were almost out of reach for me.
The very attractive hotel was 5 minutes from the station, in a quiet cobbled area opposite the Tourist Office and museum, with a passageway through to a quaint street with cafés and restaurants. The single room and en suite were spacious, with a safe, welcome fan and fridge containing free drinks. Entry and Reception were automated but the breakfast room staff were very friendly. Guests chose a time slot for breakfast to ensure good spacing. Leaflets and maps were available.
