The only thing to criticise was that there was no facilities for making a drink in your room.

The location right in the heart of the old town is excellent, with the Town Hall and the main square only 2 mins walk away. The Gasthof itself is a lovely traditional building with lots of character. The breakfast was excellent with a good selection of breads, cold cuts, salad etc.

The Gasthof is nested in the heart of the village and provides an authentic atmosphere experience. The room was cosy with sufficient space. The restaurant on the ground floor has traditional wooden furniture and serves classic Bavarian meals. Overall, a little affordable gem. We are looking forward to coming back a second time in the future.

What can be improved? First, I would advise you to write in the characteristics of the Hotel that the stairs to the upper floors are quite steep and may be insurmountable for very elderly people. We are not very old yet and we managed it, but I, as an occupational safety specialist, see this as a risk. The second from the same area is the high threshold into the room. It is not clearly visible, and I tripped/stumbled twice. I think this can be easily fixed, at least mark it with a special tape or write “caution!” on the door. The Internet speed was very low, at night it did not exceed 2 Mb/sec, and even on mobile communications, taking into account the dense urban areas, the connection was weak. But this is a general problem in Germany, and besides, in such an ancient city you can live a day without the Internet, so I’m leaving this just as a wish. But again, to inform potential guests would be a very good jest. The fan in the bathroom didn't work, but the window could be opened. All the issues were not very significant.

The hotel was chosen based on availability, price and distance from the station. Plus, family hotels always look preferable. We found the hotel quickly, checked in instantly, and immediately felt the good atmosphere. The room was very cozy (- look at a pincushion!), the bathroom was large and had a window. Naturally, we booked a table here in the restaurant for the evening and never regretted it. We haven't been fed so deliciously for a long time! The level of friendliness and hospitable attitude far outweighs some of the nuances of the old house.

Gasthof Butts has the old school charm with whimsical touches that are seen in almost every space. It feels like staying in your grandmothers house which is both clean and full of character. The room was plain but comfortable and the staff were quite kind and helpful.

The heater was not on when I arrived the room (around 7 pm), so the room was cold. Even if I turned it on, the room was chilly during my stay.

the Stairs. I had fallen over on the cobble stones in Nuremburg so climbing the stairs put some extra strain on my leg and hip but my suitcase was carried up and down the stairs for me. A kettle in the room would be nice

There should be a light above the entrance door or a light operated by the sensor for the guests to be able to enter the property safely after the sunset . The room (or the lobby )should have a tea pot available to guests as it was so strange not to have an option to make a cup of tea in the afternoon/evening. Hotel should have clear designated parking spaces or parking suggestions around the town should be emailed to the guests before their arrival . There was no one to provide any assistance after breakfast hours on Monday as “it was a rest day for the staff “ - that was unusual and unexpected.

Location is unbeatable, right downtown but away from the crowds.
