It's very clean and comfortable, the staff is amazing, there is a shop, a bakery and a wonderful restaurant.

Great rooms and breakfast. Hikes on doorstep-we walked into Baden Baden on the Panorama trail and got the bus back (stops right outside-was about 3 euros each). Liked the restaurant on site too. Mike was a really friendly, helpful guy too. Would definitely stay here again.

The Gastehaus is in a beautiful location on the edge of the national park ideal for walking, there is a bus stop outside to take you into Baden-Baden. The room was perfectly presented, the bed comfortable and the breakfast ideal, although I might suggest popping down to the bakery as an alternative.

We liked the design of the room especially as our room opened onto a terrace. The breakfast was good and the staff helpful. We were able to have fresh croissant from the amazing bakery . ( I had to buy cake for our onward drive).The restaurant staff were more than helpful and our typical German supper was superb.

The check-in process was a little complicated, there is not a dedicated reception that was manned but that added to it's charm. During breakfast, which is in a separated mezzanine, there other parties who work in various parts of the hotel that disrupt somewhat, but that is part of the business model and did not significantly detract from the overall experience.

The whole experience of this hotel is very special. The arrival was a little difficult intially, as the location is a public site, with a market, bakery and restaurant, but it is all part of the charm and experience. Upon checking in, we were given a tour of the rooms (we had the suites booked), which was very helpful to show us all the features, especially the sauna in the main bathroom. The rooms being located in the main building makes access to all the amenities very easy, and the market store having everything from local produce and meat to locally produced goods, gives non-locals an opportunity to purchase local goods, while the restaurant offers a large locally sourced menu. The rooms were very well appointed, plenty of space and exceptionally clean. The sauna in the suite bathroom was a fantastic touch, that was used in the evening and in the morning. The beds were comfortable and the separate shower and bath provided a nice luxury touch. The following morning breakfast was varied and delicious, despite there being no warm options. The fresh products from the in-house bakery were delicious and really added to the feeling of the locally source products.

Very minor but you cannot ‘lock’ the room door from the inside. My 3 year old is like a prisoner trying to escape at any moment so we had to push a chair up against the door.

Very special place to stay, lovely decor and vibe, great big bath. Lovely market shop and restaurant on the ground floor. The restaurant is expensive but worth it.

Some knocking noise outside that we heard all night. Sounded like someone forgot keys and tried to knock at door. This went on all night and also could hear it in the morning

Turning off the water and no coffee.

The hotel had to turn the water off at 9:30 am check out day. This was the only negative part of our stay. My wife needs her coffee! No fault of the hotel as far as I know though so purely circumstantial.

We liked everything.

It is very cozy, modern and clean. The room was big and warm. The room has a terrace with table and chairs and a beautiful green view. The breakfast has a good choice and the staff is attending every need. There is a bakery onsite and a supermarket with local products perfect for souvenirs. The home deco shop has very good quality products. The highlight is by far the delicious food in the restaurant by yhe candle light. There is also a fireplace in the restaurant hall which makes the whole atmosphere warm and cozy.

Perfect dog-friendly base to explore the northern part of the Black Forest. The staff were super helpful, and accommodating. The attached restaurant and bakery are very good as well!

there was nothing to not like.

really nice in terms of spacious, clean and quite as there are only a few suites. at the entrance there is a local supermarket and restaurant. we were here only one night as we were on our way home. but I’m definitely coming back.
