Konstanz isn't cheap, so if you're looking for a budget motel to stay at, this is your best option.

The staff don't speak much English, so you'll need to rely on Google Translate if you don't speak German. Other than that, they're nice and helpful.

It was too hot in the room and there was no good lighting.

The Lady was nice and available. The room was small but comfortable. I had the entire room for myself. Even, it is not central, it was easy to walk to take the train and go directly to the City Center. Good connected with the train Station Close by and I would go again if I need to go to Konstanz again.

They dont accept credit o debit card as booking said.

Gerry and the staff are really kind, they are like a family. The location is not the best but you have a bus stop at 10 min by walk or a train station and you are in 20 min in Altstadt.

It wasnt too clean. No towels supplied. Lock on my bedroom did not work. Just hoping they dont have bedbugs!

Not much. I suppose you get what you pay for! The bed was ok. Christine gave me a key deposit 20 eur which I got back. The lock didnt work it was a sliding door but would not lock so I did not feel safe all night. It was a shared bathroom but no towels I suppose you have to take them! So I could not shower but did not have time anyway. Its quite a way from train station well out of the way. You have to pay cash which was fine. It was very cheap its all I can say. I dont think I will stay there again. It looked like it could do with a good clean :(

Smoking area is just below the window of the room where we stayed. in summer we have to keep the windows open at night. the Mattresses are very soft. people with back problems may face issues.

near to Mainau. this is mainly for backpackers. okay for a night stay. kitchen, shower, toilets are shared. cleanliness depends on who uses it. rooms were clean. the hosts were welcoming and assisted with all queries

It was pretty far away from the nearest bus stop or train station, so it was somewhat irritating to get to.

The host was super friendly and nice and the cost was very good. The decor was very… eccentric and the place felt somewhat disorganized, albeit very clean. It was a strange, but nice place to stay.

The location is probably not the easiest to reach if public transportation is your thing. If you want to go to the hostel from Konstanz city, you likely will have to take the train to Wollmatingen station and walk for 10 min. I must say though, even with such a remote location, the fun is totally worth it. Also, once you are there, you can rent a bike for 10 EUR per day. It is not too bad after all.

The staff are very friendly, so much so that it feels like home. The rooms are very specially decorated as well. The room that I was in (Asian themed) has genuine decorations from East/Southeast Asia. There is basically an infinite supply of coffee. The fact that you can rent a bike for 10 EUR per day absolutely beats the slightly disadvantageous location of the hostel.

Location. The fact that it's far away from the center wasn't surprising to us but this part of town doesn't look cool and even a little bit dangerous It was a little bit cold in the room

Price, the fact that we were living in the room for 3 but nobody came to stay with us, very nice woman met and explained us everything very explicitly. Also in the morning we could drink delicious cappuccino with farmer milk

A bit of a walk from the train station in an industrial kind of area. Facilities outside the room can feel dated.

Staff, comparatively economical, very good shower. Beds were new to me. They had a mechanism to align against your body. I didn't fall the difference but my friend complained.

No lockers in the rooms, no lamps/plug sockets by each bed (but some in the room), quite far out of town (but with good bus connections so wasn't too bad), you had to pay in cash on arrival (plus a £20 key deposit) and it would have been nice to have more warning about this cause I don't carry that much cash...

Fairly cheap, basic but everything was there that you needed, well equipped kitchen, good WiFi, nice staff (Christine also offered to make a coffee/cappuccino in the morning!), good bus connections

    Nothing noteworthy comes to mind.

The host, Gerry, is a kind-hearted and interested person. Being very experienced in traveling the world himself, he tries to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Every room is dedicated to a different part of the world, which is really unique. The kitchen (which was free to use) came in very handy. The first home cooked meal I'd had in days! Would definitely recommend staying here for a night or two!

There were no supermarkets/convenience stall in the near vicinity, nor restaurants/eating establishments.

Really comfortable spacious room (i stayed in room 'south america'), the bed was really great, and the pillows just right (against all odds. I can never get used to the softer pillows EU uses) Really friendly hosts - both Liva and Gerry were excellent and super approachable. The shared washroom was clean and spacious. Breakfast was a highlight! You are asked the day before what you'd like, and it's prepared for you the following morning. I just felt the sincerity from the owners of the establishment, that they go out of their way to make sure you feel welcome, and have an enjoyable stay. And for a backpackers' place, that's the icing.

Outdoors, especially out the back, feels like a junk yard, with huge piles of old vehicle parts lying around. The doors and windows don't operate smoothly. The shower is mouldy and the rooms smell a bit dank. You'll want earplugs, as a pump kicks in any time someone uses the water: it's not very loud during the day but noticeable at night.

The staff are very friendly here. You have access to a kitchen, a range of indoor and outdoor spaces, and clothes washing facilities. Lots of funky objects from around the world give this place a real travel vibe. You can rent small lockers for your valuables and the private rooms are a fair size. Didn't see any insects or pests. About a ten minute walk from train and bus connections to the city
