Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe lady at check-in was "correct" but not really friendly and welcoming.
Really nicely furnished room with a balcony. It was really quiet, we slept very well. The infinity pool with a view of the Cathedral St. George was very unique. Very nice and special architecture in the attic (wellness). The choice at breakfast was very good. We loved the freshly made Egg Benedict and Pancakes!

TurkeyFor a more enjoyable spa experience, consider visiting on weekdays if feasible. The weekends tend to be crowded, with some guests struggling to find available relaxation spaces. While the drinks in the spa area were enjoyable, there were issues with the hot water, and the availability of glasses was slow and limited due to the crowds. Additionally, it would be beneficial to have conditioner both in the spa and the rooms.
The thoughtful welcome treat added a touch of elegance to our arrival. Our room exuded cleanliness and comfort. The breakfast offerings were diverse and satisfying. The fantastic spa facilities made us eager to return for another visit.

GermanyThe cosmetics, for such a hotel, were really mediocre.
First, the hotel is relatively newly renovated and uniquely designed (the swings in the room and swinging bed in the spa area were great). Secondly, the spa area were also very nice and relaxing (although, the pool was unique with great views, but it was a little bit too small during the peak time). Finally, the restaurant was also nice and moderately priced. Would really consider coming back here. P.S., parking was also comfy

NetherlandsThe room wat hot, despite the fact that the outside temperature wasn’t above 25 Celsius in daytime, and the nights were cool. I was surprised that the hotel didn’t have AC in the rooms, being recently updated and of a high standard. Price is at the high end.
Breakfast was very good. Hotel has a luxury appearance.

United StatesIf you book and have problem with noise, ask to not be in the rooms facing the street, because the church bells are very loud and very close. The "3D Museum" is kind of a waste. But that's not part of the property.
Loved the staff. Loved the restaurant, the breakfast, the town, the ability to see other towns from Dinkelsburg. Big bed, lovely shower. Oh, and the infinity pool! Wish I'd been there when the sauna was open but I'm a morning person. Even got to see the farmer's market. And the nearby restaurants are also good.

United KingdomQuite small windows (though this was unavoidable given the historic nature of the building). No aircon (though we found this in most southern German hotels - there is a fan provided)
Imaginatively designed suite in the top floor/roof of the hotel. Great spa & pool. Great location for this beautiful historic town. Very good breakfast

United KingdomNot sure this was a 5-star hotel. It is very good and solid, but lacks the last touch for that fifth star. The staff was friendly but a little hapless at times, the gym felt like a closet, very small and stuffy. The whole hotel had very little natural light, and somewhat quirky layout. My suite barely had windows and as the bed was on a maisonette under the eves, I had to trot down and up a rather steep set of stairs to get to the loo in the night. May not bother everyone. The downstairs areas were also very dark/no windows. On the other hand, the price was reasonable so all in all a very good experience that I would warmly recommend.
Lovely town and a superbly located hotel. Friendly staff and the spa area was nice, with tea, snacks and fruit available at all times. My suite was tasteful and very fresh.

United StatesLovely hotel at the heart of a beautiful old town. We booked a room with a terrace and loved every minute of it. It was located in a new wing of the hotel. Dinkelsbeuhl is a wonderful small town in which to spend a couple days relaxing in the slower pace. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast great.

GermanyThe restaurant only offers a 5 course menu for dinner which you can have only at 17:30 (Who has dinner at 17:30?!?!?!) or 19:30, which is really limiting. So you kind of have to choose between eating a normal menu or pick-up sth from the tapas menu (which are still good). What I find wierd is this new design trend for a shower in the room. It was implemented really good, but still for a five star hotel I would expect a bit more privacy. A separate sink in the toilet would also be a nice amenity.
The hotel location is perfect. The spa center is really well designed with the attention to detail. It is a place where you can relax as if you are somewhere in nature. You can feel as if you are alone there. The restaurant food is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room was cozy and comfortable with everything you might need. The hotel is located exactly at the main square and a lot of parking options were available on the street, which is really practical if you are arriving at Saturday evening.

Spainnot too impressed with the dinner at restaurant. we ordered a 6 course years menu and it was stretched over the course of 4 hours. we had to be there 7 although we would have liked to eat later but After 1.5 hours we had only a small 1 cm3 cube sized bite of pork. Didn’t get drinks until we asked and tables to neighbors were a bit too close. everyone was able to follow our conversations for 4 hours. We enjoyed it nevertheless but the experience stayed a bit behind expectations for this great hotel. - breakfast buffet was okay but for a hotel of this level and price the breakfast is a bit basic. Relatively basic selection of foods, we loved the “Weißwurst” though and availability of non lactose milk - gym equipment also very basic for a spa and wellness hotel, 2 thread mills and 2 kettlebells. for a spa / wellness hotel a good gym is important .
Hotel and spa area is really top notch and very much worth a visit. Beautifully decorated, high quality materials like sheets, wood, decorations, bath robes. Spa is an amazing place to relax with a view from pool, little snacks and drinks. great service in the spa too. Staff was very friendly and flexible, got a little welcome chocolate too and a late checkout. We really enjoyed our suite, it was extremely spacious. we loved the small town and the location with many great restaurants around. we will definitely come back.

United StatesThe bed was too firm and the sheets were like sleeping on canvas and did not allow for them to breath, resulting in us sweating in the bed.
Great location. Within walking distance to most attractions. Right across the street of St. George Cathedral. Breakfast was excellent. Huge and beautiful spa. Very attentive staff. Recent renovation was done with very pleasant atmosphere and taste.
