The bathroom has no light but a sensor, that turns the light on automatically also when not needed. The bar area is small and the chairs are so uncomfortable that you don’t want to stay long. Too bad, as there is nowhere else to go in the neighborhood. Some staff member were a bit unfriendly with non German customers.

The location is really nice, the view on the Wartburg great. Very good the breakfast and the food at the restaurant. Nice old-house charm.

This will be a temporary thing but in August 2023 there were a lot of road closures on the routes into the hotel. Given that it's at the top of the hill in the middle of a one way system it made it really tricky to find.

Well equipped hotel with fantastic views of the Wartburg. Good portion of salmon with my scrambled eggs! Fantastic building and the dining terrace is beautiful - and open at breakfast time.

I liked the view of the Wartburg and the forest. The staff were very friendly. He suggested things to visit around Eisenach and sells a map of the Rennsteig. The location is perfect for light hikers, halfway between Wartburg and Eisenach. Parking was very easy and free. Nice breakfast with a beautiful view and good service. Possibility of sending a postcard from the hotel. I have recommended this hotel to my friends who have stayed there since.

Found some old empty beer cans in a cupboard, but the room was clean otherrwise.

Emmmmmmmmmm, nothing really, but if I need to say something........ the restaurant menu could have an English version or pics of these dishes.

Great location and view for sure! The hotel is located almost at top of the hill right next to the Wartburg Castle. Driving was a little bit bumpy, BUT you will NOT regret about it! Nice and kind staff, too. I got loads and loads of help from them. PS, the fluffy Akita dog in the hotel is super duper cute, don’t pet him, he is a grumpy buddy.

The road getting to the mountain where Haus Hainstein sits is narrow with many switchbacks. You will need to drive at a reasonable speed to get there safely.

This converted music school makes for a wonderful hotel experience. The staff were helpful and polite. The hotel grounds were gorgeous as was the building. The hotel sits at the top of a hill with beautiful views, but a fairly narrow, winding road for access. You should be okay with some cautious driving. We could see Wartburg castle clearly from our bedroom window. The hotel breakfast was typical for what we saw in Germany. The buffet included coffee, fruit, juice, deli meat, rolls, etcetera. Bacon appeared to be by request only. The breakfast room overlooks a forest, and has a clear view of Wartburg castle in the huge windows. If the weather allows, the breakfast room also has a large patio. The building has a lot of stairs. The front door has a set, as does the breakfast area, half the rooms, as well as the ballrooms. My wife and I were fine dragging luggage, but this is something to remember. The Americans with Disabilities Act does not apply to 100+ year old German historic buildings. If we go to Eisenach again, this hotel is top on our list.

Bathroom very very small compared to size of room

Stunning location, clean room, staff all pleasant, terrace for evening meals and breakfast offered fantastic view of the castle and surrounding hill sides. Breakfast selection very good with plentiful choices . Evening menu very good value although there wasn't an English version available so had to rely on staff translation.

It wasn't the properties fault as the road to it was closed. The detour was not well marked and was difficult to follow.

This property is at end of a road with a wonderful view of Wartburg. It had a very good restaurant. The building is lovely.

The location is amazing, easy to reach from the A4. We stayed on the 4th floor and woke up to the most amazing views.
