Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWe had absolutely no complaints - but a small tip for the hotel staff: we came to dinner around 7.15 - 7.30 pm, and had a wonderful meal. However, we were never asked if we wanted a refill for drinks (red wine; which was of very good quality), and when taking the dishes out after our main course, we were not asked if we wanted dessert or perhaps coffee. As the kitchen apparently took orders to 8 pm, it may have been too late for dessert, but we didn't know. When we a little later asked for coffee, it was absolutely no problem and brought to us promptly. But checking a little more often with us, would have increased the food & beverage revenue.. 😉. So not a question of 'didn't like', it is a very minor 'tip' we would like to pass on.
Location is superb, we loved the historical features, both building as well as the interior design - we were very happy however, that they didn't stretch the 'authenticity', 'history' to the rooms...the room was very wel renovated, modern comforts, with excellent bed, spacious walk-in shower; cleanliness was of a very high standard; also, as we wanted to enjoy the short period of sun that started shining when we arrived, it was no problem that we wanted our drinks on our little balcony, it was brought promptly to us. Dinner was excellent quality, tasteful, not too salty (!) and presented on beautiful (older?) plates, enhancing the already lovely ambiance. Breakfast buffet, next to being in a beautiful historic room, was very good: well balanced between sweet and savory choices of breakfast items, fresh fruits (no canned fruit), and freshly prepared warm breakfast, our choice was scrambled egg & bacon. Delightful hosts, naturally friendly. We were actually sorry we only had 1 night here, and certainly will come back!

BelgiumOveral amazing experience! Breakfast was great. Everything was fresh and the breakfast area looked amazing. Super cozy! The staff was friendly and always at your service. The studio room had a great terrace which gave a view over the little historical marketplace. Bed was comfortable and the room was spacious enough for a small family. Traveling with a 6 month old (as we did) is not that easy, yet the staff did everything to accommodate us with everything we need to have it as comfortable as possible with the baby. Wuld definitely recommend!

AntarcticaParking is not super convenient, as there’s really none. But there’s parking in the vicinity.
Beautiful historical hotel, nice and spacious rooms, comfortable bed and big bathroom. The hotel restaurant has a good selection of local German dishes and Mosel wines.

NetherlandsIf you have limited mobility the free parking is a little bit of a walk (5 mins only). The paid parking was only charged between 10:00-18:00 so there was no problem parking in the evening. The EV parking was a 10-minute walk up steep steps and a hill but a pleasant walk through the village and/or past the church.
The location is amazing in a sleepy half-timbered riverside village straight out of a fairytale. The staff were friendly and eager to help and ensure everything about the stay was perfect. The food was excellent and the buffet breakfast ticked all the boxes.

BelgiumIt's not something I didn't like, but I thought we would be able to cook a meal at this studio apartment, but it didn't have all the supplies (such as a pan), and there were only two firepits.
we had the studio apartment so the room was very comfortable and big. The breakfast is very versatile and each morning it was a pleasure to enjoy this lovely buffet. The hotel itself is located at a very beautiful village.

NetherlandsOur hotelroom was spacious and very clean. It also had a balcony with a great view on the river and into the town. Breakfast was delicious. And the staff was friendly. The hotel is in a beautiful small town. There are restaurants nearby (dinner was very good at the hotel restaurant as well) and it is close to Cochem and other sights.
