* because my husband and I have mobility issues the flight of stairs at the entrance to the hotel were a bit of a struggle for us. However, they were shallow treads, which made a difference.

* this is our second stay at Henri Hotel - last time was in 2015. The hotel was as bright and well-cared for as it was then, and had the same good facilities and helpful staff. We were so pleased. * we love the vibe of this hotel, with its retro theme * we were very pleased to be given a room on the ground floor, because of our mobility problems, and the walk-in shower was perfect. * It is beyond excellent that the windows opened so we could regulate the temperature of the room during the night, such a far cry from many bigger hotels where you can't open a window or regulate the temp, and it's far too hot at night. * the staff are all brilliant - very helpful, good at explaining things and kind. We really appreciated them. * we needed taxis on two occasions and asked at reception and the hotel's system of calling taxis is very quick and taxis turned up bang on time. Excellent service. * Breakfast is excellent - good range of food and very fresh. * It was nice to have the option of snacks, drinks and some food as self-service outside breakfast time.

The room we stayed in did not have a door separating the bathroom and the room. Only the small toilet had a door. The shower cabin and sink were inside the room. For this reason, sometimes the room was stuffy. The price of hotel is not cheap. The breakfast buffet was great but it was also expensive.

The location of the hotel was very good. It is very close to both the metro and the central train station. The staff is very friendly and they fulfill your requests sincerely.

I understand Hamburg is a popular destination and in addition there was an exhibition the next week. I am happy to pay more for some extras, but the price is honestly too high for a room that size without balcony.

I liked everything about The Henri Hotel. Rooms were lovely (great shower) and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Only think I didn’t like was I had a double bed but a single duvet. I’m sure they would have replaced it if I asked.

The A/C (suite 702) in the bedroom was making a humming of noise during the night, even being turned off, but we did not report it. Also, we booked a suite with a kitchenette, which was locked and to use it, there was an extra fee of 30EUR (we sorted that one out with a delicious takeaways).

Centrally located, the lobby looks old-fashioned, but the rooms (suites) are modern, spacious, airy, clean and comfortable. The shops and the restaurants are short walking distance from the hotel, 10–20 minutes. My partner was very excited about two TV's, one in the living room and one in the bedroom (he needs to get out more). Adequate amenities were provided.

Just be mindful that the bathroom (not the toilet though) is open, so best to go with someone you know well. I think this is a German thing, I've met it a few times. There is construction work across the road but it's only during business hours and not the weekend, so probably not a problem. There was a great coffee machine in the room... small biscuits would have made it perfect!

I really love the quality of everything, fixtures, furniture it's all just really nice. Staff too were great. Hotel is small so doesn't feel like you are in a crowd - breakfast is good, wide enough range of quality choices. 5 minute walk from the HBF, 2 minute walk from the metro, 30 euro taxi from the airport. Also enjoyed that there is a snack bar in reception for light bites and cakes etc. There is a sauna, but that's extra and we never used it.

A little noisy - we're not sure if it was the aircon or water pipes . . .

The location could not have been better! We were a 5 minute walk from Hamburg HBF and less than 2 minutes from the beautiful Mönckebergstrabe. The famous warehouse district - Speicherstadt was also very close by.

The location with its proximity to the main train station, downtown (e.g. Mönckebergstraße 5 minutes), the Alster and lots of the tourist attractions is fabulous! We walked everywhere. The room was very spacious and had an interesting modern decor. The beds were super comfy! Breakfast was included and had a wonderful variety including local specialties. All the staff were super nice, welcoming and very helpful. We loved our stay!

I liked everything

I loved the suite ot was cozy, roomy, and comfortable. The facilities at the hotel were awesome especially the Spa. The breakfast was first class as well. The staff were very friendly too.

Currently the view from the room we stayed in is not too appealing (a construction site), but this will hopefully change in the future.

Henri Hotel has a lot of character, with our top floor room particularly interesting, in an artsy and original way, and certainly cosy and comfortable. We really liked it. Friendly, helpful, professional staff. The proximity to Hamburg central train station is a plus as well. Breakfast was pretty good, although in a rather small space; no problem at all though.

Lovely hotel with great location near the river and shops - easy to walk to different locations and near metro stops. The staff were super lovely and helpful. The breakfast was great with lots of variety and the spa was cosy and relaxing. Would definitely recommend if you come to Hamburg!
