How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The bed was really uncomfortable. And the hotel had thin walls so I could hear the guests in adjoining rooms. The breakfast was also mediocre. The coffee was too weak for my taste, for instance.
The staff were super friendly. And it was soooo clean!

The staff was amazing and very helpful. The location of the hotel was great for exploring the city and they even had a dedicated bike garage. The room and bathrooms had all the amenities and a nice breakfast complemented the stay.

Thank you so much for a wonderful time that we had staying in your hotel. Thank you for the excellent breakfast and the friendly staff. The accommodation is very central, and we were able to walk to all the restaurants in the area. Will definitely stay there again if the opportunity arise.

Room and bathroom was on the small side but we did manage adequately for three nights.
Staff were delightful. Room was comfortable and the breakfast plentiful. Even though there was a large coach party, the staff ensured that a table was reserved for us every morning. The hotel location couldn't have been better as we arrived by train and it was 5 minutes walk.

No elevator and not that comfortable steps. We had a good surprise that the hotel had some parking spaces but not in sufficient numbers for all guests. Breakfast is really OK but not more than that (No orders for eggs are taken, can have only the eggs in the buffet. One day the waitress told us that there were no more white wheat rolls - only dark wheat). The air conditioning could be stronger.
Best location for the old part of the city. Very nice and good mood staff. Spacious room. Air conditioning in the room - quite rare in hotels of this level in Germany. Good breakfast. Real three beds and not a double and a sofa.

The hotel is in the old building, therefore you will hear every noise from the street and from the stairs. Air conditioner had a temperature range starting from 21°C, which is quite high for me and not comfortable to sleep. This air conditioner made some continuous noise every 60-90 seconds. Lastly, the shower has a very plain sink, therefore each time after you take a shower, the floor will be also wet.
Good people working in this hotel. Very friendly. Great location in the very centre of Konstanz. My room very clean and comfortable.

More of a guest house than a hotel: no residents lounge, no lift, no kettle or fridge in the room.
Excellent location, friendly staff. Decent value in a tourist town with breakfast included.

It’s spartan, but you’ll have what you need.
Excellent location! An easy walk to most sights and the restaurant on the plaza downstairs is wonderful. And there are some parking spots available.

The only downside was the lack of a lift, but given the age of the building, hardly surprising. The lovely lady on reception was kind enough to help me lift my suitcase up two flights of stairs though.
Loved everything about it. Breakfast was superb. Staff were lovely.

Very good location within easy walking distance from the train station, but quiet. Plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. Clean facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Good wi-fi. Good breakfast.

TV in lounge but not in bedroom. On second thoughts, it did not matter all that much.
Staff friendly, great breakfast, good location. Had windows that could open wide to cool down room.

Traffic & pedestrian noise below; tight limited parking spaces; late notice of new “tourist tax” of EU 15.00 per person introduced April 1, 2023 (notice received after booking in early May). No elevator.
Its location close to harbour (lake cruises), railway station & modern shopping centre; friendly & helpful staff; excellent breakfast choices.
